Chapter 1

## Part 1

1. At the beginning of the game, skip the dialogues using the space bar.

2. Go to the library --> then left and left again to pick up the map

3. Use the map to teleport back to the castle, then go up and right

4. Continue forward and skip the dialogues

5. Click on the fireplace and approach it with the right mouse button

6. Assemble the puzzle, go to the attic door, and click on the door.

7. Teleport to the castle, go to the library, and ask Bates for the key. 

8. From there, go down to the hall and into the dining room. Once in the dining room, left-click on the bowl and take the candy.

9. Proceed to the kitchen and retrieve the keys to the attic (located near the basement door).

10. Teleport to the castle, go up to the top floor, then right and forward, and open the attic with the key.

11. In the attic, click on the chest and then left until you reach the door with boards.

12. Click on the door, then teleport to the castle, go to the castle exit, and turn left towards the stable.

13. Notice the curved fence, click on it, then continue to the stable.

14. Go into the stable, click on the box, and take the hammer.

15. Teleport to the castle and go to the attic, then go to the door and interact with it using the hammer.

16. Click on the door again and teleport to the castle, then go down to the hall where Victoria is sitting.

17. Ask 6 first, then 5, then go to Bates and ask 5.

18. Return to Victoria and ask the first question, then leave the dialogue and go to the library.

19. Ask Herman the second question and go to Bates.

20. Ask Bates about 3. 

21. Look at the symbol, click on it again, leave, and then look at the bushes with the right mouse button.

22. Teleport to the castle, go upstairs, turn left, then left again, and go to the first door with key 2.

23. Open the suitcase on the right and take two items.

24. Open the bottom drawer.

25. Right-click on the doorway.

26. Use the key on the drawer and take the camera.

27. Robert conversation -- 6(1) 5

28. Use the key on the chest and take the film, insert it into the camera

29. Teleport to the castle and outside and take a photo of the symbol

30. Go to the castle and ask Robert about the film

31. Teleport to the castle and go to Bates in the kitchen

32. Bates conversation -- 3

33. Teleport to the road by the castle and back through the gate to Henry.

34. Talk to Henry -- 3,3

## Part 2

1. Teleport to Willow Creek and go right, then right again, and to the pawn shop on the right. Click to open the door and go back across the bridge to the boy.

2. Vic conversation -- 1 (1) 1-2

3. Go into the pub and talk to Harry -- 1 (2-2)

4. Approach the man and talk to him - 2, then talk to Harry (1-3).

5. Talk to the man - 2 (2).

6. Teleport to Wormhill Parish and go right to the end to the gravedigger.

7. Gravedigger conversations -- 1-2-3-4-5

8. Go left to the end and then to William's grave. Click on the grave and the name of the grave.

9. Go to the gravedigger and talk -- 1

10. Take William's things from below Mark and teleport to the castle and the library.

11. Read the note with the right mouse button.

12. Go to the table and activate the inkwell.

13. Solve the puzzle in the order of the planets.

14. Take the key and teleport to the castle and upstairs to the attic to open the door with the key.

15. Open the workbench on the left and take the chess rook and the box.

16. Open the bottom drawer and right-click to take the diary, then left-click to take the diary with the key and take the key with the right mouse button

17. Open the chest on the right with the key and take the black sphere

18. Open the door with the rook by right-clicking to use the chess piece and open the door

How to play Black Mirror in windowed mode (using dxwnd)

The following guide is confirmed to work with the Steam version of the game in the following languages:

- English
- German
- Russian
- Italian
- Spanish
- French
- Polish

It seems to **not** work with the Czech Steam version as the game loads into a black screen for unknown reasons.

- Download "dxwnd" from [Sourceforge](http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/) unpack it and start dxwnd.exe

- Download the corresponding dxwnd configuration file from [this leaderboard's resources tab](https://www.speedrun.com/black_mirror/resources/vfw6j)

- Open dxwnd. Right-click on the white space in dxwnd and select "Import...". Then select the .dxw file you just downloaded. Make sure "Path:" links to the agds.exe in whatever folder the game is installed in (the path should look something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Mirror\agds.exe). 

- The game's native resolution in 800x600 which is why that's the window size set at the bottom. You can set the resolution to anything else as long as the aspect ratio is 4:3, e.g., 1280x960; however, this can lead to slight visual artifacts. Also you cannot move the window once it is up, which is what the X and Y field to the left of the resolution boxes are for. For example, changing the "50, 50" values to "0, 0" moves the window to the top-left corner of the monitor.

- Now start the game through dxwnd or through Steam. The game should now open in a window.

P.S. If the game still starts in fullscreen, the universal fix is to launch dxwnd as admin.
