Creating this as a place to offering up possible Point-Point routes for racing categories, especially since more DLC have been released since the last new additions, and we know more are on the way (e.g. Texas)

Obviously due to the number of cities available even just in the base game, let alone including DLC, there's nigh infinite routes that could be categorised, so any suggestion should be accompanied by an explanation for what makes that point-to-point special in some way.

e.g. when adding Port Angeles - Oxnard it was considered distinct due to racing down the coastal highway, which is far more technical than just following motorways.

For a new route to be added, it would be expected to see an initial run linked by someone - does not have to be the person making the original suggestion - so we don't just end up with a bunch of empty categories. Those initial runs could then be submitted once the category is created (or submitted on behalf by the mod adding the category).

I'd recommend Brownsville, TX to Bellingham, WA it starts off furthest South in the game and travels up furthest North. Plus I feel like figuring out the route configuration would be fun

Hey yeah good suggestion, I have been wondering about that sort of route since TX came out.

My concern is that once you get close to the top it might just be very similar to Roswell/Seattle. For that reason I had thought holding off on something SE/NW for now until we can go across from Florida. Or we just go the other direction, which shakes things up a bit.

Also in terms of "furthest North" I believe the services north of Sandpoint, Idaho, might be closer to the Canadian border? And would be an interesting route through the more recently added states.

we could potentially add some more routes through Oklahoma or Kansas, given that they've been added to the game relatively recently. I can scout out some areas that could potentially be interesting during my trucking sessions and report back with what I can find pertaining to a PtoP in OK or KS, I will do my best to find interesting routes so that it's not just some boring run yk. Although I feel that any new PtoP run will include the new states being added this year, NE, MO and AK

It would be cool to have some more inner-state PtoP. Like Jackpot to Vegas, Jackpot being the most North and Vegas while not being the most south in Nevada, in my humble opinion just seems like a close enough just for the word association. Or like St.George to Logan. While not every state may not have an easy 2 cities to race between I think it would be nice to have some shortish races along with some more marathon style long hauls.

I was driving in game and found an interesting point of interest, West Yellowstone. Although I need more time to think of a routing that would go through Yellowstone but it could be a route going through national monuments and whatnot. I thought it could be interesting. What do y'all think?

Sorry for the late reply but yes, a national monument tour could be very interesting. Even just a short course driving through Yellowstone could be fun as a sprint track, or a longer connection with one of the other parks in game.

With any of these sorts of ideas it would be great to see a recording of a run being performed to get an idea of what it would look like, and then it could be added to a new board, rather than us creating something empty and then never getting around to running it (speaking from experience)

I will be recording a run through the national monuments, still figuring out possible routing since I've been busy with stuff

I could see some possibilities for the different highways as they're completed (especially when Illinois is done, Route 66 would be a major one), others like I35 or whatnot. The only highway runs which are doable as the game stands are:

1. I5 (kinda the same as Port Angeles to Oxnard),
2. I15 (San Diego to Great Falls or so), and
3. I25 (Sheridan to Las Cruses),

though I understand why these wouldn't be considered. (as you said, just interstate runs aren't the most interesting).

I also thought of a shorter run from Denver to Grand Junction, which runs through the rockies. Its a bit of a scary drive with high speeds and minimal shoulders in places. Heres an example run from a stream I did (will change to a youtube link when it's uploaded)

Other suggestions I thought of:

1. St. Joseph to Phillipsburg (This road is extremely straight when viewed on a map, probably the straightest road in the game, could be fun to see just how fast you can get)
2. Nogales to Kalispell via Highway 93 (mostly, there are a lot of winding parts to this route which could make it fun. Specifically, it'd go like Nogales, Phoenix, Kingman, Vegas, Ely, Jackpot, around Ketchum, thru Missoula to Kalispell)
3. Sidney to Bellingham (the "almost Canadian" route, where you must take the northmost roads along the route, including the larger detour near Kalispell)
4. Brownsville to San Diego (the "almost Mexico" route, this time taking the southmost roads whenever possible (ignoring Nogales and Sierra vista because they don't connect well)
5. Something with the Rockies, maybe Albuquerque to Sandpoint or Kalispell (Unsure on the routing here, this kind of route might be too specific to follow, but there are a lot of curvy mountain paths between these two cities that could be taken, maybe you're banned from taking the interstate (unless absolutely necessary))

If you want to consider any of these I'd love to give them a run, it was really fun cruising at high speed.

The problem with that is that many of the runs can basically be boiled down to "just drive fast for a long time" so highways are pretty boring, honestly.

The more interesting runs to watch, I think, are those that are more technical. So the Highway 93 route might be interesting, and something with the Rockies is something I've considered in the past, if you can think of an interesting route then I would look to add something. Preferably scenic, perhaps passing notable places of interest.

Also worth noting that I am hesitant about adding runs that would be too long, because generally the interest does not seem to be there for those, most activity on the boards is in the shorter categories.

Thats fair, ill see if i can come up with ones as colorado has a lot of winding twisty roads which sound like they would be goofy to run along
