Hi I just did a freeroam collectibles run and saw in the rules that the timer even for this should be shown on screen at all times. With it being on console I cannot overlay an external timer and it doesn’t show one by default. Having checked a random run that was verified I can see the timer starts at the moment begin stage is pressed and ends the moment the last covetable is pressed. If I provide a split breakdown of the first and last frame on my YouTube video and the time difference, will this be considered a valid run? If not , what can I do to achieve this?
An example of what I mean is this in the description (this is a copy and paste from another random other-game run I did): Time starts at 18.350 and ends at 2393.217 at 60 fps to get a final time of 0h 39m 34s 867ms. Retimed using yt-frame-timer
The reason for the timer on screen at all times is to prevent splices (because of the black screens and silence). If it's a freeroam collectables single country I wouldn't see a problem with timing from video, but it'd be up to Turbo.
I assume you're using on console recording, not a capture card?
Hey yeah it’s on PS5 so just screen recording. I did wonder about that reason cos free roam you can pause to look at the map and what would stop someone stopping recording during this time, but if it was one non-paused run, hopefully it would be easy to see it’s always a fluid run and so valid. My runs aren’t going to be that fast anyway but I just didn’t want to spend time recording a few to get them all rejected. Thanks for the reply
Being honest, I would hope that no one would splice a run but you can never be too sure, Crab's right on the reasoning for the timer but I'll look into it
