Mods, could we get some more categories? The full game is too long for most people to realistically run, let alone have a competitive leaderboard.
I think Norway Any% is a great start as others have said. Mastery challenges, Niflheim, and some collectibles would be cool too.
So I saw that Ectortutu said in a different post, "To add a not full game run category there need to be at least 3 runners of that category who made at more than one run each before the category added."

That's how I originally had it too, but since time starts when you take control it made sense that it ends when you lose control. Personally I'm down with whatever the consensus is :)
Well doesn’t matter we can do either or but I would keep the title of game showing cutscene in the video so if we do decide to have it end there it can be retimed
Yes, I agree, start when you gain control of child Evior, stop at game title on screen. Ive been running Norway% for months now. Ill post a run this weekend.
Ngl I think it should start when u are adult evior or after the cutscene with her/him(depending on which evior you choose) gets free from captivity. Since the child evior is super long
Could also start at Gender Selection, its a good control start.
I agree, the child Eivor section is basically 10min of cutscenes. There isn't any room for skill expression or time saves that I am aware of.

I've done a good bit of testing and I think I found the perfect place. After Gender Selection and before the adult Eivor cutscene the game auto saves. If you go into the file system you can rename the auto save to manual save with a number greater than 5 (I suggest 20), and since the game won't do more auto saves than that, you can retain the save file. So that means you can skip the whole child Eivor section and maintain run integrity, because you still have to skip the cutscene.
Unfortunately, yeah. It wouldn't effect the actual speedrun, but console players would lose 10 IRL minutes each run
I mean I still think It’s best to be the moment u have full control. Ie u can run jump climb walk around etc. and after Evior free’s themselves Ie after the cutscene u have full control. Also ector did a practice run of Valhalla a while ago starting from their instead of child Evior section that the current any% wr is rn. Either way u can make a save on that point so then u just can just load it over and over again. But if u guys think the other spots mentioned would be good then ig I’ll do that
I agree, it makes the most sense to me to start the run when you have full control as adult Eivor. My only thought was that there wasn't a solid start point when loading a save after Eivor has been freed, but I think with the adjustment that time starts when you begin moving it seems reasonable
