I know it may sound silly that I need help installing a game on Steam, but when I tried to install it, I got a message that I had to register (the RegisterReminder file). Since I saw it said there were benefits to registering (I'm not interested, I just want to speedrun), I clicked on it to never register. Then I got a message saying "Application load error 2:0000065558." I tried everything:

Reinstalling the game, running Steam and AC1 as administrator, repairing the library, verifying the files, etc. Nothing worked. What did work was opening AssassinsCreed_Dx10.exe, but opening it from Steam or opening AssassinCreed_Game.exe doesn't work for me. I'd love it if anyone knows how to fix this. I'm getting a refund. When I get my refund, I'll buy it again. I'll see if it works once I reinstall it. Thaks

If I open RegisterReminder and select "Register," it opens Internet Explorer, but it doesn't let me do anything. Only the covers of Ubisoft titles appear. If I select "Reminder in 7 days," it closes. When I start the game, the error persists.

sometimes its a steam error like it fails to install certain files try uninstalling steam and then installing ac1. Make backups of your currently installed games in a different directory like on a different drive from where steam is installed the uninstall steam reinstall it and then install ac1 to see if that fixes it otherwise maybe just buy it on Ubisoft connect
