Sundance is a really odd arcade game. Sundance had grids in space years before Tempest was even on the scene. The game designer himself said that the game lacked the tension needed for a good game, and begged Cinematronics not to release it. Unfortunately they went ahead with it anyway, and due to the large amount of outsourcing and cut-and-jumpering the cabinets that got made wound up being super fragile and breaking quickly. Left resting in the wrong place, the tube inside the CRT monitor would cause electricity arcs and fry the whole cabinet.
