Speedrun guide, 2.49.1, (OUTDATED)

Hello everyone! Since I have lots of experience in this game I thought it would be good to share on how to speedrun this game.

Example run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y32q4Ajorhk

Every run is retimed so a timer is not required. If you finish your run before the peace timer runs out please just wait till it does so then you can end the round and it can be verified that you got the ghost type correct.

Your main goal is to try and use your equipment to collect evidence and narrow it down to one type of ghost. It's important to make sure you know what everything does, so here is a list:

# Evidence

You will need to collect at least 2 pieces of evidence for a run to be verified.

- EMF 1 - Normal
- EMF 2 - Ghost activity
- EMF 3 - Ghost activity
- EMF 4 - Ghost activity
- EMF 5 - Evidence

Ghost orbs can be found anywhere on the map while wearing the ghost goggles. But they are more common inside of the ghost room. They take a random amount of time to appear and are unpredictable.

Freezing temperatures is found using the thermometer.

You have to use the thermometer to find the ghost room. The temperature will decline the closer you get to the ghost room.

- 21-10 degrees is normal
- 5-0 degrees is ghost room
- below 0 degrees is evidence

Fingerprints can be found on any window or mirror on the map and are very hard to find on bigger maps. Any amount of fingerprints is counted as evidence.

The spirit box can only be used inside of the ghost room. It has to be turned on and can be held or placed on the floor. As long as it is turned on. You then have to ask the ghost questions but don't do it too fast or else the ghost will most likely not respond and will get angered. If the ghost responds it is evidence.

The paranormal motion detector is used to gain paranormal motion evidence. Just place it down and wait for it to light up. It will either light up blue or red. If It's blue it means there is no paranormal motion evidence. If It's red it means there is paranormal motion evidence.

The book is used to collect ghost writing and is simply placed on the floor. The ghost will write in the book at a random point during the round. The writing is counted as evidence.

# Traits

There is 5 traits that a ghost will randomly have. It is not counted as evidence but it helps narrow the ghost type easily.

- Flicker - If you see the ghost while It's not hunting or the ghost is flickering during a hunt it means it has the flicker trait.
- Tormentor - this one is the easiest to tell because if you see your screen go darker randomly it means you're looking at the ghost and it has the tormentor trait. Another way to tell is if you can see lights breaking or hear glass shattering.
- Trickster - If you notice your equipment being moved by the ghost or your equipment turning off randomly. It means that it has the trickster trait.
- Imitator - Imitator's will say stuff in the chat under your name and make it look like you said it. This one is pretty easy to tell if you're doing a solo run. Just look to see if something was said in the chat by you that you never said.
- Leech - Leech is the hardest to tell because you can only tell if you're able to notice your sanity draining quicker. But if someone dies and their body disappears it also means it has the leech trait.

# Unique traits

There is 30 types of ghosts and each one also has its own unique trait. I won't go over all of them here because It's quite a lot. These traits may affect:

- The ghost's speed
- Your sanity
- Electricity
- Doors
- Objects
- Evidence

You can look inside of the ghost information bit of the journal to see more on this.
