(Notice for after mod release, it's still under works) Due to the release of the refresh rate mod, this has luckily become outdated! 540hz is now easily accessible for anyone with the download of a mod instead. There is a guide up on how to get the mod installed and working

Sorry that this guide is a little late

In MiSide, the higher hertz you have when you start the game, the faster your walking speed in game is. For instance, if you start the game at 540 hz, you will walk much faster than if you started the game at 60 hz. Luckily, your hertz only matters exactly when you start the game, meaning you can revert back to your normal refresh rate after the game is open.

1. Buy a Display Port Dummy

• You can buy these off of Amazon, and they cost between $5-$10. The link for the one that me and other runners bought is here.

2. Once you receive the DP Dummy, plug it into one of the Display Port slots in the back of your computer. Most computers have 2-3 ports.

3. Click Windows + P and set your "Project" to "PC Screen Only". This is to force everything to one screen, which will make the next steps easier.

4. Open steam, go to your library, and select MiSide. Do not open it yet. Scroll down until the green "PLAY" button is at the very top of the screen.

5. To get custom resolution:

• Open Nvidia Control Panel
• Click on "Change resolution" on the left, select your main monitor, and click the "Customize..." button
• Next, click "Create Custom Resolution..." at the bottom
• Set "Horizontal pixels" to 800 and "Vertical lines" to 600
• Click "Test" and keep the changes
• Then, go back to the "Create Custom Resolution" tab and set your "Refresh rate (Hz)" to 540
• DO NOT SAVE SETTINGS

NOTE: There is a likelihood that this will crash your computer/turn your monitor completely black. If this happens, try these steps 2 more times. I can confirm its safe to do so.

If your screen begins to look very buggy and you can only see the top half of the screen, then that means it works. Click ALT + TAB to swap back to steam and click the green "PLAY" button at the top.

After the game opens, you can set your hertz back to its normal value, along with the resolution. To test if you are on 540 hertz walk speed, go to "The Real World?" chapter and see if your walking speed is faster after interacting with the door.

If you have Bepinex installed, it will take longer to open the game, so you will have to be quick with the steps.

I apologize that this game has come to the point where this is needed to speedrun at higher ranks, but sadly I can not fix it
