Hi speedbakers! Upon request, a new category has finally hit the leaderboard: Cupcakes! Bake 12 cupcakes, spread icing across the entire top of each cupcake, add a decoration, and when your hands stop touching the cupcakes or decorations, you're done. Whether you allow the cupcakes to cool or spread icing on them hot is up to you.
Like cookies, this category will be split into Oven Type subcategories. In the future, it may be deemed necessary to split icing type into subcategories too (store-bought or homemade).
If there are any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please let us know soon in a forum post or in the Discord server so we can make necessary edits to the rules before people begin running the category!
This doesn't just pertain to Baking as there are other IRL types, but SRC has begun to gather all of them here.
Everyone is free to complete and submit runs now. Please be sure to read the new ruleset.
All of the old runs were rejected as none of them met the pre-run requirements now in place.
The rules have been completely overhauled. As of this post, they haven't yet been added to the boards but you can preview them here. Alterations have been made after some feedback. I think this will be the final version, though ingredient substitutions may be added later as they become approved by Mods.
Main thing to note is the Convection and Conventional ovens will be split categories. Also as for melting butter and chopping/crushing chocolate, we're going to stand that they must be done DURING the run as it's against the nature of a speedrun to do things before the run starts.
There is an IRL discord being worked on between the mods and SRC mods. So look forward to that in the near future.
Finally, the "verified" variable has been removed from submissions. This was a carry-over from Cookie Clicker that doesn't really need to applied to IRL.
Once we're ready to launch, previous runs will be re-evaluated to see if they followed the current ruleset. Any deemed unfit for the current ruleset will be omitted.
