Rule exception for auto loot?

General poll: Would people like me to make autolooter allowed for All Missions? It would be added as an Annotation option if so. For now it is globally banned on the Full Game supercategory based on the rules from EDF 4.1.

Please include reasoning.

My vote would be to allow for it with an annotation. The game is already quite long by itself, with NG runs potentially warranting farming sections. Additionally having to manipulate enemies into not dying so you can collect boxes drags it out even longer. Autoloot would reduce the looting RNG by allowing you to get all of the drops instead of just some. This puts more emphasis on the runners ability to use what RNG did give them, and how capable they are of completing the missions quickly with that.

For NG+ runs people would already have farmed most, if not all, of what they need before even starting the run, so it's not going to have as much of an impact either way

NG+ runs it may actually me a hindrance rather than a help as you'd be getting all the weapon upgrade popups (if you didn't have everything maxed) after mission to slow you down. Then it could be runners choice on whether they want to risk that for some extra armor, on top of their already pre-farmed amount

I vote yes to this. But it would have to be specified what auto loot is allowed, as some collect on drop and others collect on end of mission and this has a big difference in cases where a runner may fail a level.

If someone wants to do a full run they are gonna need pickups for end game armor, and how loot is collected in this is somewhat opposed to the spirit of a speedrun. Having said that, so is the length of the game.

Though it does present a tactical choice if a player (without autoloot) ends the level or runs around collecting loot, the problem is that loot might be meaningless as it is RNG.

I have an interest in this topic as I am currently planning to do new game runs at some point.

Part of the testing/data collection I am currently doing involves collecting drops manually so overall mission time is longer than it would be if I wasn't.

I don't have exact numbers on how much time I'm spending just collecting things. If I say it's an average of 1 minute (which feels low) spent playing "unoptimally" on each mission for the sake of collecting things, then that adds up to over 2 hours just on that for the full game. My data also doesn't factor in how many drops I can't get or miss because they're far away and either not worth getting or the mission finishes before I could get it. I would guess I leave/can't get ~10-20%.

I do think it is an interesting exercise to route which missions you would take time to farm/collect things, and keeping it at a fair playing field for non PC players who can't use an autolooter is nice, but the time it would save due to not needing to pick up anything and unlocking more optimal armor/weapon farms makes it more than worth it to allow it in my opinion.

As for which autoloot mod/script should be allowed I don't have too much input on. I've only used lootmaster for 5/6, which seems fair as it only collects on mission end.
