Hey, I just got into this game and wanted to try my hands at the speedrun, but I couldn't get past Alpha and thought I was just bad, but it seems the damage you take from Infection was increased.

I could not confirm, all I got was google AI saying it was. I compared to Leaderboard but 1st ahs no audio and 2nd no video so I took 3rd place.

Seems they all can take around 15sec of damage, while I die in under 9sec.

Is this correct or am I just insane?

this is correct, i also tried to Downpatch to an Older Version of the Game, but nothing worked. IDK if there is a different way to activate this, but yea the Damage got Increased (unfortunately).

I tried it with he health upgrade, but that only brought me one sec more.

It did work with the serum from the doc in the church.

Also seems the damage output has been changed, but I'm still testing.

Hey Guys, thanks for the update and comment. I also doubled checked (before I saw ur video above) found a way to get passed it if that helps you. Just did a trial run and got to the end with the strat. I also popped a question in their Discord to see what has changed. A very rusty run with the new spore damage and going through Church, got me a 27:17:26. Put a video together on how to tank the damage in Alpha.
