Sub 16 is possible, finally got the run I was looking for. Still convinced the one run I choked was sub 16, so probably gonna keep going.
Split a bit late, went back and checked and I saw the last cutscene's text fade it at around 16:39.79 or something like that.

Thanks to @Nighlin and @boredofspeedruns , a load remover was created for livesplit to solve the PCSX2 1.6.0 emulator problems.
The load remover is made to work with current and future versions of PCSX2, and is activatable through live split without additional external downloads.
