Normally is this: 1 star: Easy, 4 stars: Normal/Medium, and 7 stars/8 stars: Hard

But unfortunately I don't know if this can be modified/defined in PS ports. (One exception could be Capcom Beat'em Up Bundle, the compilation-bundle of games can modify the difficulty of stars in PS4, but Cyberbots Fullmetal was not included in this bundle). If you can handle showing the dip switches for PS ports (PS 1, PS 3) it will be great.

Generally other option would be playing this game by using emulators like Fightcade, Mame for full Arcade mode.

How do you change the difficulty on the emulators? There's no option menu in the arcade version.

Hey @WhoDis well in emulators for Arcade I can give you info about it. In emulators like Winkawaks: you can go >> Game >> Redefine buttons >> There is a "test menu" option when you define the specific key for it, whether keyboard and/or joystick button. "Test menu" >> go to Configuration Menu (number 7) then you go to Game Configuration 7-3 (called Dip Switches) and you can change the diffculty.

Now in emulators like Mame: Press Tab >> Input this game >> go to Service mode and press/redefine the specified button/key for going to Test Menu option and you have to do the same thing as being explained for Winkawaks.

The Easy, Medium, and Hard are just the beginning/the prototype in the leaderboards. Maybe more runners could get more runs for the several difficulties for future/possible more categories cuz there are 8 difficulties in total. The first 3 are just for the beginning, just for now.
