How to Multidrift in 4 Min (please also read this whole guide as it supplements the video):

=====

This game have a pretty complex drifting mechanic.

Drift = A + B + [Turn Direction]

Drifting save some speed by allowing more tight corners way better.

Now, here it comes the more interesting thing about drifting. Your speed/acceleration goes UP the moment you START the drift, and it can go down to the normal speed mid drifting. I will call this speed "Drift Speed".

Drift Speed last about 2 to 3 seconds, after that you go down to normal speed. You can refresh the time of your Drift Speed by doing another Drift, this is called "MultiDrifting"

Multidrifting is the act of continuesly doing drifts to conserve your drift speed.

This is great becuase of Drift Speed Conservation.

Drift Speed Conservation: When you get a high speed by any mean (turbo/downhill), you can keep that extra speed by doing a drift and conserve it as long as the Drift Speed last.

So, the point is to continuesly doing drifting speed to conserve your TS speed. And if you lose your turbo speed, just use another turbo OR do a TS and conserve them.

Example:

Depending the track, you have to do a diferent kind of drift for your multidrift. On the next guide I will talk about them.

=====

Multidrifting for long periods of time can hurt your hands. It's highly recommended to pick up a soft stick n64 controller. For example, this controller here is extremely comfortable for speedrunning this game -> https://www.amazon.com/Brawler-64-Gamepad-Controller-Fighters-Nintendo/dp/B07MDJN1BF/ref=pd_sbs_2/137-4469625-0169354?pd_rd_w=F6R61&pf_rd_p=0a3ad226-8a77-4898-9a99-63ffeb1aef90&pf_rd_r=3EX30NE87PPJKWK8VJ4C&pd_rd_r=e319737d-03d2-490c-9690-4d43047cf710&pd_rd_wg=Up3LM&pd_rd_i=B07MDJN1BF&psc=1
