Croc World Boss

This is perhaps the first big hurdle for any new runners for this game. Especially me. Not going lie, it's a tough one. Been trying to learn and read the moves the best I can. It does seem slow with the current method and takes time to nail down. I feel like there might be a better solution out there for defeating this boss. And then again, there might not be.

After dying to the croc world boss one too many times, I decided to change strategies. I saw on YouTube of people laying down palisades and luring the croc into a trap where it'll take damage while in it. Downside is that you have to be level 17. However, I find that leveling up is real easy in the early levels and it likely won't take too long to accomplish this.

After trying to reroute it to this. I realize that making the required palisades will take too long cause wood is needed to make the shaped wood and you need fifty shaped wood to make one palisade and one would need eight max to do this strat right. At the end of the day, that's four thousand shaped wood and you get on average 45 wood per tree, that's about 88 trees that needs to be cut down and cutting down animation wastes a lot of time when I could be moving on. I'll either need to find a new way of defeating the croc or just get better at defeating the croc.

Update: I did more digging around to see if there might be a world boss that could be more easier and I think the Giant Spider in the desert could be an option. It's one square above Gallaman's Tomb and I think it could be easier to fight at lower levels depending on what level we get once we arrive there.

Morning update: Last night, around 10 to 12 my time, I decided that it might be good to find another world boss to kill. Namely, the giant spider not too far from Gallaman's Tomb and where the croc is. After getting defeated, and probably could have defeated it, though at that point in the game I wasn't actually speedrunning or learning the speedrunning but playing to find a different route, I decided to find a new angle. As I was doing my own research, I saw on YouTube videos how pets can play a big role in the game. I looked at that and realized that there were pets you can easily get. I decided to start rerouting the early part of the game to get that. More specifically, the Silveback Gorilla since that would be the easiest to get out of the lot of them. And that route is: going straight to the Unnamed City, getting stone, ironstone, wood, and other resources, then crafting the Set temple and the furnace, crafting the ritual knife, and defeating a miniboss. Then, going to the Hanuman's Grotto to get the Silverback Gorilla. I think it can be about 15 minutes to do all of that but I haven't properly timed it yet.

I tried running my route today but stumbled quite a bit. Especially in the area of resource gathering. I probably should have crafted the pickaxe and the hatchet first then quickly gathered my resources. I do have to say that building a box to hold all your resources will be advised so you aren't encumbered. I have a lot more work and testing with this route to see if it is indeed feasible or not.

Game Entered for Summer Games Done Quick

I just submitted a game entry for Summer Games Done Quick. I'll be running the Any% Custom New Game category for the event. I am hoping that it gets accepted. It'll be a world premier of our small little community! In the meantime, I will be hard at work taking the time down from a 1:22 down to a 1:
