Audio Glitch

I was running any% while using FDS on PS2 and accidentally triggered the Dark Blasto fight....and then this happened.

This lingered all the way through, even in Ch12 at the final boss.

So the dark blasto boss fight doesnt stop you from being able to door clip, meaning it may be faster to trigger this sound glitch and both cutscenes, instead of watching just one at normal speed. This may work for the ship crash aswell but i gamed over so no idea. Also, if its the game and not just audio, that means your invuln power up runs out twice as fast aswell :/

I am using standard hardware, slim ps2. And as an update, it also appears that after triggering this once, it continues to persist, upon starting new games even, even after removing the game from the ps2 and turning it off. Also gameplay itself does not appear to be sped up, but in game rendered cutscenes based of dialogue and dialogue itself are indeed sped up.

Will submitting runs w/ this audio glitch get them rejected becuase I have an unfair advantage?

dialog sped up may be an issue if this is the case for the Bosc cut scene. If you could do a run, I'd happily look at it and see what I could do to help. But any unfair advantage needs to be taken into consideration, though I dunno it could just be a PS2 Slim thing, I never played the game on anything other than ps1

Submitted a run. I didn't modify any hardware, this just occured naturally through playing the game. Watch the very end of my run as well and you'll see my disk is scratched pretty badly.

Okay, so I watched it, and it seems whenever you die the death scene is faster, and the Bosc cut scene which you mentioned is a lot faster. I don't know if this is allowed, I will have to consult the other mods and wait for an answer off them too and we'll make a decision. However I do believe you are playing on console and have not modified anything, and I appreciate your honesty and communication. We'll try our best to help you out, in the mean time keep practising the route, and improving.

Yeah to add to the conversation here, I had to purchase an NTSC console and Blasto game to be able to run it as I live in the UK, and PAL version is slower. So investing in your speedgame is something as a runner if you really want to do, it's something you got to do. But I think SaintConnor has explained it in a technical sense perfectly, so for now we'd have to consider rejecting the run. But we value anyone who wants to be part of the community and I hope you can get your hardware sorted. If there's any help you need with the game in general I'm happy to give advice and guidance.

Well for future reference, I am using NTSC Slim PS2 77k w/ a NTSC Blasto on FDS and Standard Texture Mapping. I will take this discussion to mean FDS is banned for this game, which should be noted. Thanks for your input.

I will also add that into the rules now so in future it saves these problems from reoccurring

United States

I don't personally see the need to ban FDS or anything really, granted it was done on original hardware.

I am also curious as to the differences in load times between a PS2 and a PS3, FDS might still lose time compared to a PS3 due to lag frames, load times and all the good good.

Anyways further discussion/testing should def take place

I have put on the rules for now it's banned, and we can change that in the future if needed. But I agree more needs to be discussed on the matter
