Any% New Game Guide

Before we get into everything let's clear up the confusion for the Any% New Game route.

The developers intentionally added the warps in through a set of events. In this category we take full advantage of the feature to complete the game as quick as possible. This guide we'll be going over what you need to do in order to activate the warps for use, and implement it into your New Game speedrun.

  1. Starting on Episode 1, defeat all the aliens as quick as possible (this adds towards the set of events to activate the warps). Once done take the exit portal to the next level.

  2. Make your way to the alien with the newspaper, wait till it enters and sits on the toilet. If done correctly the invisible platform will move within jumping distance, then head there and take it to warp to Uranian Caves.

  3. When you spawn take the path forward and head straight to the two alien ants, keep somewhat close to them as they take the babe to the Necromancer. When the ants drop the babe, she will be turned into a chicken thus activating warp 2. Jump onto the next invisible platform to take you to Bosc's Fortress' Hub.

  4. As you spawn into the Hub, don't get too close to Evil Blasto or you will set off the cut-scene, instead keep away and move around to the door. You can clip through the door easily by holding the sidestep button. The rest is simple, as you're in the last section of the Episode, you can skip both Alien Ruins levels and The Sewers, so head straight to Bosc's Throne Room for the final fight.

  5. When you enter Bosc's Throne Room, go right and grab the flamethrower, and a blue health pill and leave the ice gun for when you've used all your resources in your current weapon. Remember to tap circle to spit out concentrated shots for maximum damage. Take Bosc to their 2nd phase, position yourself near the invincibility, collect it then head straight to the nuke gun. Use all 3 nukes then grab the ice gun to finish Bosc off, when you've done that stick close to Bosc's landing position to activate cut-scene.

As long as you can follow these steps, you can complete the game relatively fast. If you're confused at all by this guide, you can always use the runs on the boards as a reference, there are many different strats (more beginner friendly ones) that other runners have gone for in their runs.
