[center]INTRODUCTION[/center] Glitches: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvOmqJ0Uxe6CbUZOxG-tyS2aqOEf_ow_b Resources: https://pastebin.com/raw/tB7r3qEA This speedrun makes heavy use of the drop reload, grenade element swap, phasewalk, wallclimb, and sold weapon challenge rollback glitches, you should be familiar with them if you want to do this run. This is a routing guide, however I think you should watch a run, or at the bare minimum have played a casual playthrough of the game. The game restart mid-run is necessary to dump the memory as the game has trouble doing this on its own. Lilith is the fastest hunter, and I recommend running with the Silent Night and Baha's Bigger Blaster, a save file with both of those factors is available in the pastebin/in resources. This route is based around reaching level 23 before the Mad Mel fight as it allows you to kill him as quickly as possible in one of the most dangerous locations in the game. [center]ARID BADLANDS 1[/center] Throw your weapon during the Claptrap dialog as it makes menuing easier. After Claptrap says “follow me” you will gain full control of your character, open your menu and quickly equip and lock both Gearbox weapons to set up drop reloading. Pick up your gun off of the ground if you plan on resetting for a 1 cycle T-Bone Junction (World Record pace) run, otherwise leave it there. Move to the location that Claptrap moves to as he will wait on your arrival there to continue his dialog. Move to the New-U station and wait for Claptrap again to continue his dialog. While he is talking you can loot the toilet under the billboard and in the boxes in the shack. Return to the New-U and activate it, close it immediately as Claptrap’s dialog will continue once you do. Run to the right side of the large building and loot the box in the red dumpster, and the green dumpster. Return to the panel next to the gate and while on your way loot the box underneath a sheet of metal leaned against the fence, stand at the gate until Claptrap starts talking. Run past the left side of the large building, and loot the toilet, dumpster, 3 boxes in the shack. START SEARCHING FOR TWO SNIPER RIFLES, AS THEY WILL BOOST YOUR CRIT DAMAGE BY UP TO 500% (1300% TOTAL) Jump up to the roof either by jumping on the generator or a barrel, then loot the box in the red dumpster, the equipment chest and both boxes by it. Run back to the gate and while waiting for it to open pull out your sniper, you can shoot a bandit walking near you, and the elemental barrel towards the end of the path. If you aren’t able to reach the gate quickly enough to take two shots before it rises, consider looting less in the past two steps but you should always try to loot the dumpster and equipment chest as both can give you items to sell. Merge your sniper to boost your shotgun's damage. Defeat both sets of bandits (two sets of three unless you get early kills) then open the equipment chest. Turn around and loot the lockbox under the tent. Run back to where the first set of bandits was and loot the toilet in the tire pile, lockbox and skag pile behind it. Run back to the equipment chest and loot it, then sit at the panel and wait for Claptrap to approach you. When Claptrap starts talking run under the water tower and loot the toilet underneath it and lockbox behind it, then run up to the flap that Claptrap will open for you. Run into town killing the 8 bandits awaiting you, the first one will vault the fence on the right and the second will be at the camp to the left of that. Loot the mailbox on your left and if time permits the one on your right and in front of Zed’s house, then stand by the New-U and await Claptrap. Run up to the water tower and loot the ammunition box on the ledge, then loot the mailbox opposite it and run in between its corresponding building and Zed’s, take a left and loot the 3 skag piles, then turn around and loot the lockbox at the corner and the toilet to the left of it. Accept the mission and reload your save file. Run up to the doorbell on Zed’s house and press it, talk to Zed and then immediately run out of his house and hug the left wall. Jump onto the fence sticking out of the rock and then walk on the half of it facing the gate and zoom your sniper rifle over the fence to spot a skag hole. Attempt to shoot the skags for a bit before walking to the spot between 4 graves and awaiting Claptrap. After Claptrap starts moving jump off of the fence segment closest to the gate and peer over at the skag hole again and take more shots. Soon the bandits will climb the fence in front of you, take out the one nearest to you, then the one to your left, then turn around and kill the final two. If you have yet to kill at least 3 skags look at your minimap and see if one is close, if so quickly kill it and then run back to the mailbox to the right of where you entered Fyrestone. A mission will pop up and you will accept it, instantly pick up the repair kit on the table and run back to Claptrap to turn it in. Run up to the gate, look at the skag hole immediately in front of it and kill the remainder of skags you need to kill. Reload your save file. Run to Zed accept the mission and run to the New-U. Fasttravel to T-Bone Junction. [center]T-BONE JUNCTION 1[/center] Turn around and spam enter as you run through the door, turn left, run out of the front door, turn to the mailbox, loot the mailbox, keep running in that direction and go down the alleyway. Loot the dumpster to the left, then turn to the right and go down the stairs, jump onto the ledge to the left of the building, jump onto the platform in front of you, follow the balcony, jump off of the end of it, land on the platform below it, loot the 3 lockers, turn to the left and follow the path, take the stairs to the left, turn to the right of the building and loot the equipment chest and 3 boxes. Reload your save file. Repeat the previous three steps until you have at least $143987–1200x (x =Sold Items). I would recommend at least $150000 or more as it will allow you to buy a corrosive nade mod, ammunition, and SDUs Fast travel to Fyrestone. [center]ARID BADLANDS 2[/center] Run towards the gate, jump over the rock fence, run up to the left corner and perform a grenade jump over it, if you don't get enough height, hold w into the corner and perform a wallclimb. After picking up the power coupling, ensure you have been in game excluding loading screens for 30 seconds, then reload your save. Run into Zed’s house and repair the vending machine, buy a shield, and set up the Sold Item Challenge Rollback. Put your skill points into Silent Resolve -> Hit & Run -> Diva -> Inner Glow -> Hard To Get -> Girl Power. PUT SKILL POINTS INTO HIT & RUN UNTIL YOU FILL IT. After killing the 8 bandits reload your save and SICR. Grenade jump in front of TK Baha to travel during his cutscene. After getting all of TK’s food reload your save. START LOOKING FOR A CORROSIVE GRENADE MOD IN AMMUNTION VENDING MACHNIES NOW SICR and a grenade at the Fyrestone ammunition Vending Machine. IF RUNNING ON HIGH MONEY ALWAYS CONSIDER BUYING A NEW GRENADE SDU. [center]SKAG GULLY 1[/center] After reaching Skag Gully reload your save. SICR and buy a level 1 shotgun SDU at the ammunition vending machine. On the way to Nine-Toes go on the left of the building on the bridge. After killing Nine-Toes reload your save. SICR at the ammunition vending machine. [center]ARID BADLANDS 3[/center] After turning in at TK Baha reload your save. [center]SKAG GULLY 2[/center] Fast travel to T-Bone Junction. [center]T-BONE JUNCTION 2[/center] Fast Travel to Fyrestone. [center]ARID BADLANDS 4[/center] SICR at Zed’s shield vending machine, drop your grenade mod. After picking up the Digistruct Module reload your save. SICR at the Fyrestone ammunition vending machine. After pressing the gate switch reload your save. SICR at Zed’s shield vending machine. [center]ARID HILLS[/center] After reaching Arid Hills reload your save. SICR at the Arid Hills ammunition vending machine. [center]SLEDGE'S SAFEHOUSE[/center] After reaching Sledge’s Safehouse reload your save. SICR at the Sledge’s Safehouse ammunition vending machine. After killing the Roid Rage Psycho he may drop a good shield. Collect the mine key and reload your save. SICR at the Sledge’s Safehouse ammunition vending machine. Fast travel to T-Bone Junction. [center]T-BONE JUNCTION 3[/center] Fast travel to Fyrestone. [center]ARID BADLANDS 5/HEADSTONE MINE[/center] After reaching Headstone Mine reload your save. SICR at the Headstone Mine ammunition vending machine. Grenade jump over the fence at the left in beginning of Headstone Mine, jump onto the hut and bounce a grenade off the jutting out rock ledge to perform a grenade jump, perform a grenade jump off of the rim of the bed of the bulldozer, jump onto the lower slanted roof, jump onto the main roof, enter the window and through either of the other two. Put an object between you and Sledge while keeping LoS while in the AoE of his hammer attack and he will repeat it indefinitely. After killing the Sledge he may drop a good shield, pick up his shotgun to replace your shotgun, equip it, lock it. Reload your save after collecting the Vault Key Piece. Fast travel to T-Bone Junction. [center]T-Bone Junction 4[/center] Fast Travel to Fyrestone. [center]ARID BADLANDS 6[/center] SICR at ammunition vending machine by the entrance to Dahl Headland. WHILE CHANGING MAPS IN A RUNNER MAKE SURE TO STOP BOOSTING BEFORE TRAVELLING. [center]DAHL HEADLAND[/center] After killing 13/15 bandits the gate will open, after killing 15 phasewalk to the door of the building to dodge the Badass Bruiser. Reload your save after slipping the master switch. SICR at Lucky’s ammunition vending machine. Reload your save after killing your 8th runner. SICR at Lucky’s ammunition vending machine, buy the level 3 grenade SDU. Park your runner to the right of the platform before the Mad Mel fight. [center]NEW HAVEN 1[/center] Wait to start driving until you load in as this transition will frequently spawn you at an awkward angle. Park your runner at the West Gate generator Phasewalk to Pierce, then go to Scooter's generator, next use the Catch-A-Ride to teleport to the drivers seat of your runner, hop out to activate the West Gate generator, then hop back in your runner and drive to the claptrap at the transition gate to The Rust Commons West. Hop out of your runner and eeactivate the remaining generators in this order: Tenement -> North Gate -> Rooftop After turning in the mission use the Catch-A-Ride to teleport to the drivers seat of your runner. [center]THE RUST COMMONS WEST 1[/center] START LOOKING FOR A LEVEL 25 BOUNCING BETTIE, IF IT IS EXPLOSIVE KEEP LOOKING FOR A CORROSIVE GRENADE MOD, IF IT IS CORROSIVE STOP LOOKING FOR A CORROSIVE GRENADE MOD AN INSTEAD LOOK FOR AN EXPLOSIVE GRENADE MOD, IF IT IS SHOCK OR INCINDIARY LOOK FOR BOTH TO ELEMENT SWAP. Activate the The Underpass New-U savepoint. [center]THE RUST COMMONS EAST 1[/center] Boost up the hill in front of the fence at the canal to get your car onto the other side of it. Press the button to open the canal. Drive to the dock, hop out and phasewalk. [center]KROM'S CANYON 1[/center] Fast Travel to The Underpass. [center]THE RUST COMMONS WEST 2[/center] SICR at the The Underpass ammunition vending machine. On the path to Tannis’ house climb/jump over the left of the shortcut wall. Save your game, exit to the main menu then restart your game. Activate the The Outeryard New-U savepoint. [center]CRAZY EARL'S SCRAPYARD 1[/center] SICR at the Crazy Earl’s Scrapyard ammunition vending machine. After killing the three Spiderants go left, after the third bandit camp, hug the right wall, jump onto the shelf and climb the wall. Reload your save after killing 25 bandits. Fast travel to The Outeryard. [center]THE RUST COMMONS WEST 3[/center] Drive/Phasewalk to Threacher's Landing. [center]THREACHER'S LANDING 1[/center] Fast Travel to Crazy Earl's Scrapyard. [center]CRAZY EARL'S SCRAPYARD 2[/center] SICR at the Crazy Earl’s Scrapyard ammunition vending machine. Turn in mission and reload your save. SICR at the Crazy Earl’s Scrapyard ammunition vending machine. Fast travel to Threacher's Landing. [center]THREACHER'S LANDING 2[/center] After collecting 25 bottles reload your save. SICR at the Threacher’s Landing ammunition vending machine. Fast travel to Crazy Earl's Scrapyard. [center]CRAZY EARL'S SCRAPYARD 3[/center] After turning in the mission, ensure you have been in game excluding loading screens for 30 seconds, then reload your save. SICR at the Crazy Earl’s Scrapyard ammunition vending machine. Fast travel to Underpass. [center]THE RUST COMMONS WEST 4[/center] SICR at the Underpass ammunition vending machine. After returning to Tannis reload your save. Fast travel to The Outeryard. [center]KROM'S CANYON 2[/center] After collecting the Vault Key Piece reload your save. Fast travel to The Underpass. [center]THE RUST COMMONS WEST 5[/center] SICR at the Underpass ammunition vending machine. After returning to Tannis reload your save. Fast travel to The Outeryard. [center]THE RUST COMMONS EAST 2[/center] After talking to Claptrap phasewalk to the right of the bridge, climbing on the rocks, from the last rock grenade jump towards the ledge, you will be able to pixelwalk on the bottom of the slant, ricochet a grenade off a rock, and grenade jump onto the ledge. SICR at the The Cauldron ammunition vending machine. Reload after talking to Taylor Kobb reload your save. SICR at the The Cauldron ammunition vending machine. Wallride into Jaynistown on the wall near the draw bridge, you will be able to drive through many props/walls. After killing Jaynis Kobb with your runner, ensure you have been in game excluding loading screens for 30 seconds, then reload your save. Drive to Old Haven. [center]OLD HAVEN 1[/center] Fast Travel to The Cauldron. [center]THE RUST COMMONS EAST 3[/center] SICR at the The Cauldron ammunition vending machine. After turning in mission with Taylor Kobb reload your save. Fast travel to New Haven. [center]NEW HAVEN 2[/center] After opening the container reload your save. Fast Travel to The Cauldron. [center]**THE RUST COMMONS EAST 4 **[/center] SICR at the The Cauldron ammunition vending machine. After killing Taylor Kobb with your runner reload your save. [center]TRASH COAST[/center] SICR at the Trash Coast, if you have enough money to buy the remaining grenade mods you need (if any) buy a level 4 grenade SDU. After collecting the Vault Key Fragment reload your save. Fast travel to The Underpass. [center]THE RUST COMMONS WEST 6[/center] SICR at the Underpass ammunition vending machine. After returning to Tannis reload your save. Fast travel to Old Haven. [center]OLD HAVEN 2[/center] SICR at the Old Haven ammunition vending machine, if you have enough money and have yet to buy the remaining grenade mods you need (if any) buy a level 4 grenade mod. After talking to Claptrap reload your save. If you have yet to get both a Level 25 Bouncing Bettie with an Explosive and or Corrosive grenade mod to element swap it, reset and Phasewalk to the vending machine until you have all of the mods you need if you have enough money and have yet to buy the remaining grenade mods you need (if any) buy a level 4 grenade mod. [center]THE RUST COMMONS EAST 5/THE SALT FLATS 1[/center] Once you kill all four runners, drive to the west side of the encampment and walk straight in to the elevator, once you have activated the elevator jump onto the barrel, or stand directly to the left of it.as soon as the door opens get forward as fast as possible, jump onto the right side and stand on the warped roof of the shack, bounce a grenade off of the back right of the roof and jump onto the canvas roof, check behind you and look at the elevator to see if you have activated the savepoint, jump from the front left of the canvas to the back right of the next one, jump on the air above the next canvas roof and then onto the pathway to Baron Flynt, climb up the white truss and jump onto the platform with Flynt, Phasewalk up to him, stand so he is positioned between you and the right cliff and shoot him from underneath so he flies off into the death plane, open the empty chest at the top of the building, if you avoided the savepoint jump ointo the death plane yourself and spawn at the bottom of the elevator, exit the way you came in, if not reload your game. [center]THE BACKDOOR[/center] Wallclimb the corner of the wall to the east before the bridge overhang, SICR at the Backdoor ammunition vending machine. Use your natural or swapped Corrosive Bouncing Bettie on McCloud to kill him easily. [center]CRIMSON FASTNESS/ ENCLAVE 1[/center] Travel to the southernmost building, climb up the external stairs to get into the console room, activate the Transmitter Console, then reload the game. SICR at the Crimson Enclave ammunition vending machine. Repeat those two steps again twice to complete the mission. [center]CRIMSON FASTNESS/ENCLAVE 2[/center] DO NOT FAST TRAVEL TO CRIMSON FASTNESS, WALK THERE, ONCE YOU ARE IN THERE WALK UP TO THE DOOR, THEN PHASEWALK TO THE CONSOLE, RELOAD YOUR SAVE. [center]THE SALT FLATS 2[/center] Fast travel to Salt Flats. Mash enter while Tannis is talking, you will have to repress forward to get your runner moving again. [center]THE DESCENT[/center] Phasejump into the pit of The Descent, if done correctly you should sail to the bottom cleanly, begin a phasewalk after you pass the middle structure with the fire, crouch under the door, phasewalk onto the platform on the right, then phasejump off of it towards the edge, as a backup there is a small platform you can land on if you hug the right wall. [center]ERIDIAN PROMONTARY[/center] SICR at the Eridian Promontary ammunition vending machine. YOU SHOULD BE AT LEAST 3/4 TO LEVEL 32, IF NOT RELOAD YOUR SAVE AND SICR UNTIL YOU ARE, BUY THE LEVEL 4 GRENADE SDU IF YOU HAVEN’T. Buy a full inventory of grenades, equip your Bouncing Bettie, do not waste grenades, at the part of the minimap where there is a ledge climb up the rocks and jump up until you reach the top left, then wallclimb the last bit. [center]THE VAULT[/center] During The Destroyer fight shoot the purple weakpoints and toss natural/merged Explosive Bouncing Betties into its mouth until it dies.
