Game 4 starts you at a different spot in the course each time you select "4" and will keep you at the same starting point (even if you hit reset) until you cycle through the four games again. To get the best starting point in Flying Ace, cycle through the four games 16 times (you'll end up pressing the "game select" switch 63 times)
