Hello, I have a couple of questions:

1. I can't get LiveSplit to work with the game. I simply can't control the timer, even with global hotkeys on (even in windowed mode). The game eats all of the inputs. Do you have an autosplitter to start the timer automatically?

2. Are custom resolutions allowed? I'd like to play at 2560x1440 but that resolution is obviously not supported. I found a patch ( https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1726-ballance-widescreen-fix/ ), but I understand that you might not be comfortable accepting runs done on modified game versions.

3. Game stutters in windowed mode.

4. When does timing start for IL runs?

5. Do you have a speedrunning discord? I asked about the rules in the server linked here but it doesn't seem very active.

6. Is there a strategy archive of sorts? Or any tutorials/recourcses?

By the way, I've been playing around with BML and its included mods, and it's really well done. It fixes all the problems with compatibility and enables my desired resolution. It also includes a timer. This makes me wonder, could it be modified into a speedrun patch? (if it didn't include all the debug and tas stuff lol)

1. Make sure you are running livesplit as administrator on your PC. Unfortunately we don't have an autosplitter yet.

2. Me and Leemyy have never discussed this so for now I'm going to say no. I personally don't like the idea of using a modified version of the game.

3. Perhaps try toggling the vsync option in-game. I seem to remember it being reversed. (i.e. when you set vsync to on it actually turns it off and vice versa.)

4. Seems as though people start timing from the level fade in, but really for accurate IL boards you'd want to ask in the linked discord. There is a much more extensive Chinese IL community that determine IL time from a calculation based on the in-game score.

5. The discord linked here is the main Ballance server, speedrunning this game isn't very active. :(

Besides that there's nothing I'm afraid. Your best bet is watching the top runs and practicing the strats they use.

To address your last point, this is something we talked about a few years ago, but nothing ever materialised. The truth is the RTA community for this game has always been pretty small, which is why we lack things like autosplitters and tutorials. :( It's maybe something that could happen in the future.

Hello, I have been trying all day to run Ballance I joined the discord installed the game like 10 times but at the end it starts up shows me the logo and black screen. Do you have any idea how to fix it am running win10. Thanks in advance.

Try running the game in Windows 98 or 95 compatibility mode.

I tried still no luck

Make sure you are setting Player.exe to compatibility mode and not Setup.exe, then launching directly from Player.exe.

I did that with no luck, however i got my old pc with win xp on it and play on it. Thanks for the help :)
