So ever since GDQ a year or so back, I've wanted to get into speed running LoZ:LTTP. I'm really interested in the RBO, 100%, and maybe the sword less categories. I'm using the Japanese 1.0 version, the Snes9x emulator, and my controller is this (https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Super-Nintendo-Classic-Controller/dp/B01M1K6HKT/ref=sr_1_7?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1499792378&sr=1-7&keywords=snes+controller+usb). I keep having this issue with the initial stair clip in RBO where I can clip a little bit twice or so but after that, I go too far right or too far left when I try to adjust. I've tried select buffering but it's just as inconsistent because the buttons are so mushy. I was trying to go along with Andy's RBO tutorial on his channel but I got stuck there. I went with the back up strat but got stuck again when I had to clip into the mountain for the same reason as before. I don't know if it's my controller, my frame rate, or just a practice thing. This would be a really cool thing to learn, I just need some help with the tech involved. Thankyou

Here's a comprehensive set of tutorial videos made by superSKUJ covering a variety of glitches in ALttP including basic wall clipping, DMA, DMD, Cane of Somaria glitches and more: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPsUbwi58oG_hjrgq1wpYmM3JMEn9b8R8

Hopefully this helps out. 😃

If you think it's absolutely the controller and you're looking for a different one, http://amzn.to/2vcF6lq (iBuffalo) is what a lot of emulator users go with. Another option is a USB SNES adapter with an original controller.
