played through the dlc somewhat yesterday, seems to be overall decent content (but i'm not a game reviewer so my opinions, in general, will be kept to myself)
in terms of the speedrun i will be making the weekly challenge not legal as it can give up to 500k etherium (essentially removing any bottle necks of the run) but seeing as that relies on a bunch of factors like which week you play, if ubisoft keeps the servers up in x years and even nintendo keeps the servers up; i don't see it as something that should be even considered
after testing some of the loading screens with the new firmware update that essentially allowed the switch to overclock, thus reducing loadtimes, i actually noticed some loading times have been extended (this is probably due to the increase in assets offsetting the overclocking)
there have also been some updates to planets in terms of new enemies and layout of planets and thus any run done with the crimson moon dlc will be given its own category should people start running the game
As always I'm up for debate on the decisions. Have fun out there Cap'n.
Are you asking for each specific level or doing all ascensions in a single sitting per character?
I usually take the approach of adding runs as they are being done and a video is submitted, my suggestion is follow the rules there and I'll make a sub category for the other consoles as they come in. Seeing as I'm the only runner for now I didn't see much point in putting a bunch of categories up.
That makes sense to merge it to the Star Fox IP Speedruns. I didn't much fancy making a dedicated Discord whilst no real community was evident. I'll join.
I should also mention the "Rock 'n' Reload" glitch also works with death, if you die as a cutscene begins you come back with full life, same for energy.

The most useless bug I've found so far is what I call "The Infinite Music Glitch". Where as Star Fox in Space hover around the entry area of a planet and activate your ability. The summoned Wingman is unable to teleport in and thus the ability timer cannot start allowing you to listen to badass Corneria music for as long as you want; as long as you don't go too far from the spawn point (going down on the planet is not far away enough so you can explore some of the planet whilst headbanging).
No Discord will be made whilst the community is small. Same goes for more Categories. The forum should suffice.
When starting to run this game there are a few things to take note of in the PC version:
Shift Key is a great shortcut to start Fast Forward Esc is used to reset a Frame if you get caught Spacebar will pause the Frame
Ideally you'll never have to used Space Bar or Esc key in a run, but it can save some sticky situations.
If (and I hope you would) use mouse for the run please note that the keyboard and mouse can not simultaneously input, that being said it's safest to make sure the Shift input is done first so the Frame progresses at the fastest possible time.
It's also noteworthy that as you pick up a panel the game pauses, thus; the less time you take to click and drag the better, also, the least amount of clicks to solve the puzzle is best (there's also multiple animations through a panel and some are faster than others!)
I think it's similar to the Dedede skip, just let him begin attack animations otherwise he goes to friend wheel.
I feel I should also include the fact that a quick thumb slide from A to B then B again before Dedede lands will result in a double hammer spin making him have 2 attacks per hop.

Hey so I put in a run, speedrun.com says in one part I have no runs awaiting verification but if I view all it says I have one. Did you mods get it or should I resubmit?
Right click on LiveSplit > Edit Layout ... > Layout Settings. Then select the Always On Top Setting. Should keep it over the game unless there's no Borderless Windowed Mode in which case as Phantom said Borderless Gaming to enable that

I don't think they need to be added, I ran Easy & Hard today but don't feel the need to submit my run especially as it excludes NA currently. We are very lucky to already get a feel for the movement and start practicing some content that may be in the game and already have a headstart in that regard. I dunno just feels like the leaderboard would be there just for the sake of accolade; and speedrunning has always meant, at least to me, the discovery of fastest routes through a game, a full one at that and then the execution of it.
Perhaps the tree hits box is curved so when you jumped into it you crossed the trigger and as you land the pixels push you back outside of it so reset the trigger?
You may be comparing a 30fps video to a 60 fps one, but, some actual evidence would be nice before bringing an accusation. Just saying that's true isn't really enough, on the other hand you may be right if splicing was used. eklasa may just be picking out somewhere he didn't splice, but he doesn't have to prove his legitemacy. You have to prove his illegitemacy.
Of course, and I hope you haven't become discouraged, myself and my community have enjoyed this not being a dead game and look forward to your attempts in the future :)
It's not about Victory points (VP's), it's about Influence Points (IP's).
Allow me to explain: In the standard manual America receives +1 influence points. Because this is a speedrun and an official space I went with Standard Tournament Rules which would have a bidding system agreed upon both players (or a flat rate of +3 IP's for USA). Because we are unable to negotiate with the AI on this system the flat rate is given.
I accepted your first run because I hadn't included that in the rules which had prompted me to change it up.
Agreed, also poison has a lot of animation time to use consistently.
