No, sorry. If you want to we can help you improve on your mashing technique. Being able to mash is more about knowing how to do it anyway, with what muscles to flex and how you would hold the controller.
If you really want to have turbo, you could always just run against yourself and upload videos of it without having it on the leaderboard.
Sounds great, retrounderground!
Don't forget to check out and . Also this page for damage values: https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/tmnt_4_turtles_in_time149.html
Of course you can run without following the tutorial, it's all up to you! Just remember that the power from Raphael comes from his special attacks and his dashing attacks, so if you mostly do normal combo attacks you might be better going with Michellangelo. I see a lot of new runners pick Raphael and not utilize him to his fullest potential, only to die very often due to his very low defense.
You can run with as many lives as you want. :)
Absolutely! Run the game with any turtle you want. Once you submit the run I'll go ahead and make the leaderboard for it, unless anyone thinks it should be handled differently. Just submit it as Any% with the appropriate difficulty, and I'll move it to a new Leo leaderboard. Once one run has been submitted, you'll be able to select the Leo category.
Just for consistency sake, I think it makes the most sense to include Easy/Normal/Hard for Any% Leonardo, as excessive as it might feel. What we can do is have the the difficulty that the run has becomes the primary difficulty, and the other difficulties become misc. leaderboards until they have any runs submitted to them.
Have fun!
Not really, just keep on practicing and you'll get better at controlling your jump height. The problem you're having with taking damage will also come naturally as you not only get better at predicting enemy AI, but also be able to plan your damage boosts better. Make sure you're not playing with either wireless controllers or huge flat-screens as those will typically cause lag, making it harder for you to control Samus.
Okay, so after a few weeks of no replies I figured maybe I should go ahead and make the changes.
They're now done!
If you dislike any change on the leaderboard, let me know!
The categories of this game is kind of weird, maybe it's time we fix it? If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me explain:
First category, "Hard Mode", is just that. Hard mode what, exactly? Any% / Low% / 100%? Not that I'm sure what 100% and Low% would be in this game even, grab all pizzas vs grabbing none? But you get my point. Then we have "Co-op Any%". Okay, the speedrun category is pretty clear here, but can this be any difficulty now? Then, finally, there's "Normal Mode", which follows the same problem as the first one, in that it has no speedrun category tag to it. However, this one is under "Miscellaneous", even though people submitted runs to it. Why hide this category, and make their runs harder to find?
So, what I would propose is we sort the categories like this:
Any% Hard Any% Co-op Normal Any% Normal (then, as the rest has no runs yet, we add these into "miscellaneous") Any% Easy Any% Co-op Hard Any% Co-op Easy
This would sort the categories in order kind of like how it is now, with the most activity first, leaning down to least activity. (I know Co-op has more activity than Hard as far as amount of runs is concerned, but I think we can all agree that more dedication and work has been put down in the regular Hard.) Having some empty categories could be nice too, because people could see that and want to add runs to it (granted, they would be under misc, at least under the time being).
Maybe also, if people are totally against either the 1P2C thing, or the wrong warp in particular (as opposed to not having the time or desire to learn it), we could possibly add separate categories for that too.
Finally, only thing I could see us improve is the "rules" part, there is only rules for Hard Mode and all it says is "Complete the game on Hard Mode". We could include when you're supposed to start and end the timer (I know some co-op runners don't start and stop at exactly the right moments, but it's whatever). If anyone reads the rules part, that is.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
I saw this leaderboard just got two new moderators. I don't know if posting here will notify anybody, but if it does... lookie lookie!?
EDIT: I did see 100% was changed to Any%. Very nice.
Hey there!
Ever since I started submitting my times on this leaderboard, there's been three things in particular I always thought could be improved upon. Let me explain what these things are and why:
-
When you visit the leaderboard, only the console runs are visible by default. Personally, I know you can go Filter > Emulators to make them appear, but that's not obvious to everybody. I know AxlSR and others put up a lot of work into this speedgame, and most doesn't even notice they're on there. My suggestion would be to make emulator runs visible by default, but still be able to toggle them. If anyone has a stigma towards emulator runs for this game, they can just look at the "emu" tag and disregard them.

The main category for the game should be Any%, and not 100%. WERY already explained to me that apparently 100% was supposed to signify running the game without exploiting any glitches or wrong warps. The thing about that is that this game doesn't have any glitches or wrong warps to help you out in the run, and even if it did, shouldn't it be called Any% Glitchless, or Any% No WW? 100% doesn't really make much sense. Surely any powerup will help you go fast, but not many finishes the run with all powerups, since you lose them by dying or taking damage.

What is up with the background? SF2010 has nothing to do with Street Fighter, and any runner or mod should know that. Is it supposed to be ironic? As to what to change it into, I dunno. I think the famicom cover of the game is pretty badass, but just a screenshot of the game -- heck, even a dark background is better and less misleading than the current one. The text is slightly hard to read too, because the background is really bright in combination with the panels being somewhat transparent.
Thanks for reading, and I hope I got the message across. Let me know what you think.
If you got a 20 minutes gap we could squeeze in a Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight run, this was declined in the third cut. I think I would prefer a solo run.
I'll be there the stream starts and leave the day the stream ends.
I have a few things I have to fill in regarding my game submissions.
I don't remember if I filled in availability or not, but I have no memory of it so I might as well say that I'll be there the whole event!
About my Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight run: I don't know if this could be considered now, but I forgot about a potential race when I submitted it. I asked WERY about it and he's up for it, but maybe it is required for him to post here as well. Or it's not possible at all because we already submitted and it's too late.
About my Alundra run: Anyone having clicked that run link when it said USA/NTSC must've been confused. So the region is supposed to say NTSC-J. Sorry about this, I'll blame it on not being used to running games in Japanese.
I know I'm very late but I figured I'll bring my qanba stick as well, and don't be afraid to ask if you wanna borrow it (I'm the bald guy lol). I can't bring any console though, so if it's cool to play on either someone's 360 or PS3, that would be awesome. I highly appreciate it if people could bring TTT2, as well. Possibly Graywords could bring TTT2 on PS3 and someone else could bring it on 360.
Edit: Now the schedule at the "main site" is updated and it's back to the earlier times. Thanks guys! My bad that I kinda jumped to conclusions there. :)
The schedule that's over at the main site (europeanspeedsterassembly.com) is different than the one that's in this thread. Which is the right one?
Waking up at 7 to play Secret Ties at 7:33 felt pretty heavy for me already, but now on the main site it says that Secret Ties is gonna be played 6:38, so now I'd have to wake up around 5. So if you can't do anything about that I am not gonna be able to sleep many hours that night.
Also, you could remove 5m estimate from Secret Ties and 10m estimate from Battle Kid 2.

I figured why not bring my own PC game called Pixelbot Arena. It's a platformer arena versus game where you collect weapons and try to destroy each other, very similar to an old DOS game called Marshmallow Duel. I don't have a laptop or anything though so but perhaps I could borrow a computer for it sometime during the event? Would be sweet. Here's some footage from the game, this from a stream and this from a tournament .
Paid for mass housing and air mattress. :)
I am in the same situation as Janmumrik here. ^ I paid during sunday evening through Paypal. I can see the deposit from my bank account and the address and name is accurate. I can provide transaction ID.
I paid like 6 hours or something ago.

If anyone wants to bring Tekken, I'm down to play.
