Still it belongs to the Golden Axe series
I guess this version differs a lot from Sega CD/Genesis version, and looks more like the Arcade version. I think the right decision to do is creating a src just for this version of the game.

So, recently I got back for PB attempts on Gargoyles and then something about the Spike Skip on stage 1 (after the cauldron guys) bothered me a lot. At first I thought it was RNG but I found out why when you jump into the spike, it dragged you inside the spikes, rather than getting out of them.
It turns out it has something to do with Goliath's body hitbox when you take damage. I made two different attempts, one taking the damage near the cauldron without getting knocked back or stuck in the wall (which happens sometimes if you miss the dash into the cauldron), and one getting knocked back. And turns out I was correct.
This new discovery erases the previous strat, which you jumped into the wall and tried to jump through the spike to get up, and can save quite some time (around 3/4 seconds, I don't know how precise I am yet) if you don't get screwed with the prisoner next.

The same thing can happen on the big climb before the first boss fight. But it's weird since his body hitbox isn't the same with all the spikes (as Tox mentioned days ago when I talked to him).

Czar, if I'm correct, Ceara just challenge you until Brazil. If you win one of the two first rounds, at France he won't challenge you anymore.
However, if you happen to be challenged by E.Bellini, it gets even worse than Ceara LOL
Brazil is likely to be easier than San Marino, since it has many turns that can help you to get closer to Ceara (it is possible to beat him with 4-speed gear there btw), but the Norte turn can be very awful to get him.
About this teleport glitch, I've talked with some veterans on the game there if it already happened and they already knew about this glitch, but it's good to remind about it! <3
Beyond perfection, Bill. I'm really wordless about this. As Tenebrae said, no one, including on the Brazilian community, has ever made it on 7-Speed against Ceara, and many thought that could be impossible to do.
Congratulations for such an achievement. No doubt you're the best SMGP player I ever saw running.
Also, this can be a huge improvement on Full Season runs, since you only need to beat once Ceara to keep the Madonna with you. That can reduce a lot of time on the second season.
Anyway, once again, congrats and thank you for being the first one to ever beat Ceara on 7 speed!

Hello people! So, me and some speedrunners are organizing a Golden Axe speedrun tournament that's going to happen soon, and I came here to share the news with you all and ask you to join it!
The registrations started today and will be going until July 20th, the category will be Arcade - Tyris Flare! We're planning to make the tournament on SpeedrunsBrasil.
It would be nice if everyone here joins it!
Something I was thinking about was a 4-speed run, since, on this one specifically, you can beat G.Ceara just once to keep the Madonna on hands. That would be a different pace, but yet slower than 7-speed (and probably will be around 3 hrs).
Or even make a real Any% and use both 4-speed/7-speed on this one which would reduce time a lot (since Madonna is moderately better than Firenze overall).
What are your opinions about it?
