Solo & co-op allowed I guess. If a S rank isn't achieved, then redo the chapter until S rank for the player, or both if co-op, is achieved.
Site admins just have to make in sort we can classify each category as we want. No need to erase additional times, it's still a good info on the run quality. For example in NG+, RTAs can be way different, but IGTs stay the same. So we can see who's got a better machine, but doesn't give an advantage either. It's this kind of informations I like to see on the LBs to get it more complete.
Was it a good run before that or not? Did you missed a lot of shots, got hit... That could have made it easier, but well this is fast. Maybe you've just donne a critical hit on the side of the truck Kappa
I didn't read every post of this thread, but I'd say that I don't really like it too. I tried it on a tablet, and it's not looking very well too. Previous layout was better, I think.
Tho, isn't it possible to get like the "normal" Speedrun.com site, with the old layout, and an automatic mobile version, fully dedicated to mobiles and tablets, named m.speedrun.com for example? Like if the site detects that the user is looking the site via a mobile device, it instantly goes on m.speedrun. It would need that new layout is kinda modified to make it look better and more practical, but this is definitely a good thing.
If it's a co-op run, would we need only one player to get S rank? Or do both need it?
We already talked about it few months ago, but many ppl said it wasn't necessary.
I'd like to see it, to maybe run it later, why not. We could see that as a fun category.
So yeah, all emblems & treasures of course. Not sure about all guns collected, I don't feel it useful. But we could buy all weapons. With all the treasures we've got it should be no problem at all. Upgrading them might be too much tho.
I'd add ' Kill every enemy ' maybe, with an exception to the zones where enemies spawn infinitely, such as 1-1.
But also should it be NG or NG+? Probably NG can make it much cleaner and challenging enough, even in Amateur difficulty.
We don't. Even in the future when we'll play PC, we'll just stick to SS runs.
there is many races pools. Each race can have many locations, depending on the current pool. You have to keep autosave enabled, then you quit career and load your profile. Repeat this as many times you want until you get the good placement.
Check Ewil's PB to see how he does it.
Try to assign the game to only one core.
You can do it in the Task Manager, right click on your Underground 2 process, and assign it to one core. Which one you choose doesn't matter.
I'm still 500% NO.
When will you understand that because menus aren't counted in IGT, we can't use it? You guys are NG+ players so obviously you don't thing about NG.
And doing NG+ IGT and NG RTA would be the worst idea ever.
I'd say 'No', personnally, BUT it is true that your arguments are correct.
It might be difficult to check every runs, moreover if some co-op runs are not recorded by both players. Just add a rule so that PC players must record their runs, and both teammates must do it for Co-op. It's free, and if you use Shadowplay for example, it shouldn't impact the framerate.
Also, I don't think it could be good to open a distinct 30/60 fps category. You can just leave the leaderboards like that, and add all the possible variables.;
An unofficial game patch exists on steam forums. Maybe you can use it. I won't put the link because it's unofficial, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. It's just 2 files to change.
The problem is that the game still contain data from Games for Windows Live times, and it seems that it's doing some sort of "conflicts" when you play, at defined spots of the game, as 3-2 crank for example. People that have disconnects always at the same spots should play with it as it seems to work efficiently.
I didn't know before, and I definitely think that this is the only reason we're losing time. Version or Internet doesn't seem to change anything.
So, I "think" I know why Me and Mitsuko lose a lot of time during loadings.
It's probably digital version of the game that is faster than CD version. Internet might be another factor but not the major cause if this.
If somehow it's proven that CD has the same loadings than digital, I don't know what to think anymore.
If you want to create a discussion group to talk about that easier, do it. Maybe you'll change my mind, but I don't like this IGT idea.
As I've always said, IGT doesn't count menus. That ruins everything. It could lead to like 2-Hours run RTA for just 1:20 IGT. Kinda bad.
Also what is this argument about Consoles slower than PCs? It has always been like that, and it will never change. Unless your PC is too bad so you can't play smoothly, I'd say go on PC and play it with the load remover splitter.
I'm fine for IGT for segmented chapters, but SS-wise we can't exclude menus so easily. This would become 'run-and-shoot'. Same for Seg runs, but i've made my mind. We all have different strategies (in the menus, for NG) and we've seen that they change everything. We can't do the same as RE4. RE5 is a totally different game, and that implies a different timing system. Shame on the devs to not count menus in IGT.
If, when you submitted your run, it wasn't clearly written in the rules that changing FPS during the run wasn't allowed, I'd say it should remain in the leaderboards.
BUT, I'd like to see, from now, a rule that clearly says that changing FPS during a run is forbidden. I don't run PC version atm, but I definitely will play it at some point. I think that strats have to be planned for a determined FPS combo for each player. (like some might prefer 60/30, others 60/60...), and stick to it.
Every FPS combination has pros and cons, and it's to the runners to decide what they want. But changing FPS changes the game a lot, as we know. AIs, Walls, Doors, loadings, everything is different (Auddy demonstrated it in a video which I don't remember the name).
So to make short : I'd let your run in the LBs as the rule wasn't specified clearly. And moreover your time still has margin to be improved. You can also try to do better once the rules are determined. I vote YES for a determined FPS choice BEFORE run start.
