I have seen a lot of YouTube videos that show speedeunners getting caught cheating.

I don't understand. The whole fun of speedrunning is getting better. I consider it kind of like bragging rights. You can't be proud of something you really didn't do. You only end up hurting yourself.

I look forward after work to practice and try to get better. I just will never understand the Billy Michells of the world. I really don't care about being number 1. And if I am ever number 1 I would want someone to come along and beat my score so I can try and beat the new score.

Speedrunning to me never ends. Always trying to get better and have fun doing it.

What do you guys think?

I tried that but it didn't work. I tried mashing the D-Pad to the right and Jr. still went the same speed. Wonder if it is my setup or something.

I have run some tests on my emulator and watch game play from an actual NES system. How are the top runners moving so fast across the vines?

I have not been able to do this on emulator and have never seen anyone do this on NES system.

It is really hard to get video on the 3ds. There are leaderboards which show current regional standings. I submitted a screen shot of the leaderboard which can be verified and watched via playback in the game on 3ds or 2ds. Is this ok? Or will screen shot runs be disqualified? My Nintendo network ID is similar to my username on this site. Thanks for any help.

You can also get RCA or composite to HDMI converters for about 30 on Amazon. That way you only need an HDMI capture card. Save some money.

From what I can tell this is an LCD creen of the arcade version. Google searching shows the same. Just wanted to see if it would be its own catagory or if I would submit under arcade?

Awesome. As long as your having fun the times for runs are just a bonus. Just post all your decent runs so you can see yourself getting better. I like game maker and rpg maker also. They are fun. Keep it up with the game development. You never know where it may lead.

As long as you use US games.

Most CRT's will work with either NTSC or PAL. There are some framerate differences. With that TV personally I would get a US NTSC NES. It will connect with an RCA cable to any capure card with RCA connections. Or directly to the TV via RCA. RCA is the red white and yellow cables. Hope this helps.
