In Dragster, I decided to go the slowest possible time the game will allow you to finish. I got lazy and figured close enough, and then Buffalax, and old runner beat my anti-WR, and I never bothered getting it back.
That was 4 years ago, and it stands: https://www.speedrun.com/dragster
Of course, back when I did it, there were only like 30/40 runs on the board, lol.
Thanks. Have no idea I get another 52 seconds. But then again, I didn't know how I would drop 6:55 all the sudden :19 drop. Maybe I'll do the back tees and see how the goes.
I mostly play synths and work on a computer to make music these days. I can play guitar, bass, drums (my favorite). I got a very general working knowledge of music theory, so I can dabble on a keyboard or mess around with any string instrument and get a feel for it, with the exception of using a bow, which is pretty difficult to get down. I smoke cigarettes, so pretty much any of other lung-capacity-having instruments are out of the run for me.
I've gotten 3 more 6:55's since my PB was set. Finally, I got a 6:46 today... on the one run I somehow didn't record.
Just had to vent.
Hey y'all. First off, an apology for the delays in post board updates as well as run verifications. After dealing with yet another hellish extended tax season, I figured it'd have more time to address these issues his summer (as well as getting my streaming set up together and begun running gain more frequently). Welp, it turns out I have to get some more classes done in a very short time period, and the classes are pretty difficult. So, it might be a bit before I start getting my streaming back up.
That being said, I should have more time devote to moderating boards and cleaning them up, and doing what I do on this site in normal times.
Firstly, I've asked BryBad & Megamatt79 to hop on as additional moderators. I'm hoping this will expedite video verifications. Should they accept, they will be up on this board to assume the same moderator roles as I currently have. I plan to work with them (or other people should they not be interested) equally for verification, board changes, disputes/resolutions, etc. Pretty much everything except adding more moderators.
Secondly, I wanted to nail down this Quick Match issue.
As far as Exhibitions are concerned, I will be creating a separate subcat for submission victories with both Quick Match on and off. It will be stipulated that Non-Quick Match submission runs will need to be displayed after or before the run is complete.
As far as Royal Rumble is concerned, I'm assuming we will have something different than originally anticipated.
Any% No Ring Out/Quick Match No Ring Out/No Quick Match
Similarly, No Ring Out/No Quick Match will probably have the additional verification requirements.
If there is a better/shorter/nicer name for those subcats, let me know, as I can't think of anything particularly accurate and good.
That being said, if I'm missing anything, please let me know. I will have the updates to board up sometime this week.
I'm going to be reupping this in a new thread.
Yes, only 1.6/1.7 is accepted. Later versions are known to run faster while the legacies allowed are known to be more accurate emulations.
I got one more week of hell fam, and then I should be able to get things up and running and get this sorted out.
Regarding the Quick Match setting, I can always just create a "Submission/No Quick Match" and "Submission/Quick Match" distinction in the sub cat, and through the Quick Match version into the Misc Subcats. I love distinctions and all.
Regarding Royal Rumble subcats, Any% currently allows for completion of the Royal Rumble by any means necessary, whereas No Ring Outs allows for a win so long as opponent is eliminated by some means other than Ring Out. I'm not sure the a distinction needs to be made for "Ring Out Only" and "Any%", because I remain relatively certain that using entirely Ring Outs is going to be faster than any combination of eliminations mixed with Ring Outs. Could be wrong about that, but just seems that the same fastest run would satisfy the condition of being "Ring Out Only" and "Any%" simultaneously.
As far as No Ring Outs in concerned, I've left that option open just in case someone is actually brave enough to attempt it. I got a N64 now, and will have a copy of the actual game soon, so it will be nice to try some runs of it at some point in time when the time comes.
Need a "Fan Game" tag, since it is community made and maintained: https://www.speedrun.com/neolemmix/
Alright, so after playing around with NeoLemmix, I'm in a 100% that it should have it's separate leaderboard, not only because as mentioned earlier it's unofficial game in the lemmings games, but because I believe it would be much better served having it's own board.
Since NeoLemmix has updated levels, and it also additional custom packs, it seems to be me that a board for NeoLemmix could have Full-Game runs organized as such: Name of Level Pack -> Difficultly Categories.
Also, since the game has a much more precise IGT for levels, it appears to me that there could be a lot more interest and competitiveness for level runs, which I believe is a much more popular challenge for Lemmings players who aren't quite into speedrunning the base game.
There's also some additionally complexity (versions of the software that could potentially affect runs) and obvious the use of same of the endgame tools, which need some clarification on rule making. While using the fast-forward function would be obviously very useful for those running RTA on multiple levels, it doesn't seem like it would provide any benefit to doing level runs with the built in IGT.
Then, of course, there's the issue of submitting runs, and video requirements. Since IGT is clearly something where a picture could be provided, and what appears to be a save and replay function, which could be used to verify runs for those who don't have computers capable of live recording very well, it's possible that this could open up the game to be ran by more players.
So, in short, I'm very into opening up another leaderboard, but there's a few of the details I would like to see ironed in advance if possible, just so everyone running with the same understanding, and we could avoid changes in the future that will affect people's submitted runs that they put effort into already.
I missed WillLem’s post, so sorry for late response. I will download both on Sunday just so I have a clearer picture on how they both play and operate.
Actually, something just occurred to me immediately after posting the last post.
At this point, and to really just make submitting runs for Exhibitions less complicated and dumb sounding...
I changed the subcategories for Single Exhibitions Rule Types "Pin / Submission / Ring Out / Any%".
That's simpler and makes way more sense and really addressed the inevitable submission subcategory that no one asked for, but will be asked for one day. Just going to get ahead of that now.
Alrighty. I did some cleaning up of everything and even updated the rules for everything (something that sorely needed to be done). If you see a mistake or error, please let me know, and I will correct.
Regarding RTW subcategories: I will split runs into a subcategories if and when such a run is made, and will make adjustments as necessary. Didn't want a slate of empty subcategories.
Other note: I was going to consolidate what was previous the "No Ring Out/No First Blood" and the "Ring Out/No First Blood" subcategories. As I was working on it though, I changed "No Ring Out/Not First Blood" to just "No First Blood," and changed the "Ring Out/No First Blood" to "Ring Out" since there are runs that specifically denote the fastest "Ring Out" victories.
This means that a Ring Out victory meets the conditions of both categories. However, all Ring Out runs will be put into the "Ring Out" category going forward.
Hope this helps clarify things for the new runners. Again, apologies for the delay. The snow days here has given me time to work on this, so glad I got to time to resolve these issues.
Alright, after rewatching some of Ah_You_Know's run, it appears he successfully won every match, which can be verified by the stats keeping relatively easily on the menu screen proceeding. I did not see a ring out victory; but I will take a look more closely and see if I can find in the 4 hours of gameplay there. If anyone notices, please let me know the timestamp on the video so I can verify.
I believe we got something like this going on:
A completion of Road to Wrestlemania consists of starting a new game, and then getting to the credits of the game as quickly as possible.
I'm thinking something like this:
Any%: get to credits screen as quickly as possible using any means necessary, including losing matches.
100%: get to credits screen as quickly as possible having a 100% win rate.
Once those two are established, I can subcategorize both of these categories based on use Ring Outs. (Ring Out / No Ring Out). I'm not yet aware if First Blood in the options settings can be used for RtW; that's something that needs to be determined. If that's the case (First Blood / No First Blood / No First Blood or Out).
The subcategories may be unnecessary entirely if First Blood isn't an option for RtW, since it has been determined that a victory can be attained in single matches can be attained faster with a pin that it is physically possible with a Ring Out.
Let me know what y'all think, and we'll see if we can't get this all set up this week.
Ah, typed out a big thing, and then accidentally erased it.
Alright:
Any%: Get to credits, Losing Matches is accepted. 100% Get to credits, win every match.
I gotta test to see if First Blood is an option in RtW. If it isn't, then I'm not sure subcats are necessary, if pinning is faster than Count Outs. If it is an option... can subcat for First Blood and No First Blood.
This is correct; sorry for the delayed response.
One could create a custom character specifically to play as, and another custom character specifically to play against. Additionally, for Royal Rumble runs, one could do the same, including created 3 custom characters specifically to play against at the beginning of the game. (Once the first three AI are eliminated, the game automatically pulls from the stock characters in the game for the remaining AI).
As far as counts are concerned, those runs for future exhibitions and such will likely merged here soon, since it was discovered you can actually win a match pinning an opponent faster than a count out. Not sure if that’s the case for story mode, since it gets progressively harder. This game always throws us curveballs so we’ve had to clean it up a couple of times.
