I think it happens because he edited his run.
The "5 days ago" refers to the last edition date, but on the info page, date is still refering to the first time he submitted.

Marathons are automatically hidden 4 weeks after the last post has been sent. So if you keep posting in every single thread of the forums, of course they won't disappear.

I'd suggest you start running with what you have and then invest in better material when your time is sufficiently low.
Just imagine, you invest hundreds in a japanese console and game, and you realize after a week or two that you don't want to run OoT anymore for reasons, despite your current motivation.
