@Vectorman0 Even though your post is 20 something days old, reading your post comes as semi passive-agressive and contributes nothing about the difficulty modes itself as it isn't providing feedback but rather just an opinion, as I did not think the difficulty mode honestly even mattered and I'll explain why even though RNG already said it.

It seems going by this thread the only impact was the grain, this is slightly arguable. However, the majority of all runs do not care about the difficulty modes as all runs (or at the time) were being done by what was the fastest. Now pin position is interesting because I have never noticed it being moved around (but again most of the time I was only sticking with Normal/Easy so maybe the impact was much more noticeable on the harder settings).

The scoring does not matter and I have had this argument on the discord at one point; your objective is to play the game as fast as possible while winning the tournament in the first place (look at any other golf game on this website) and while this isn't required at this time, any optimal player is going to win the tournament no matter what so this should never be an argument honestly.

Even though I have long since retired from this game and I believe RNG will take special care with this game, if my opinion is still relevant it should just entirely be up to the community, it is very tiny as far as I know and perhaps it warrants looking to adding these modes later in the future.

The only reason I did not add these is due to my lack of knowledge of the modes and not noticing the differences easily, but because of their nature hardly any runners are going to fill those categories with runs and it will create more clutter in my opinion. Like I did say though, if the community becomes a lot larger I think it may be fair game to reconsider adding them to the leaderboard.

@RnG I have also removed the "low score" category, speedrun.com doesn't approve of score-based games/categories on the site. High skill play will aim for the lowest score possible in the regular main game or ILs due to optimal and fast play based around time itself. Anyone who merely wants to track scores should be doing so on a google spreadsheet or another service.

Been awhile, there's a total of around seven of us altogether who have played on the server. I haven't been quite as active lately as I'd like but I decided to expand the spawn building for no real actual reason, the top of it looks really tacky (the building) but you don't normally see it during regular gameplay but I have it set up this way as how you would be viewing it from the ground. I added a water-wall, pathway, flowers, bushes (using leafs), etc. I think spawn looks pretty nice, and I'm still not much of a builder.

@Riekelt Don't tell people misinformed information. Any time a game has a relation with another game (take Link's Awakening as your example) it gets reserved to the previous moderators of the original game, if they do not want to resume position for it then we make sure to find someone capable to maintain it. This also includes series mods as we will add moderators of the previous game on the board if the series moderator does not do it unless requested they wish to not be part of it.

If it's an entirely new IP, we will see all the requests and add multiple people on the board as we deem necessary.

You aren't wrong, we have had problems with series moderators taking advantage of their permissions which is also why we've become very stubborn with series moderators in general. People may not like that, but it affects everyone else too and not just a sole party, this is a different bag of worms to get into but as mentioned it affects every series moderator who also have the same abilities.

The idea with this is, while it will not apply for existing games at all, newly created games will give series moderators and moderators a limited set of options to choose from to apply as a one time ordeal. However, if they require multiple selections they'll still need to approach site staff to make adjustments.

Why is it limited? To prevent incorrect markings and potential abuse. We want to believe this is an honest solution that is the right balance, we don't want to give everyone unlimited power as we've seen people misuse what power they currently have.

Edit: The "limited" set means 2-3 of the options will not be select-able (Multi-game being an example of an option that won't be allowed to be chosen as it requires every moderator of X amount of games to agree upon)

I'm going to bump this, I should of explained, we don't want users being able to abuse this but we are actually are going to allow users to do this as a more "one time" type deal.

Not many of us but we build whatever we can, I'm not exactly that good at building things but to encourage people here's a couple of pictures of things so far.

This is just for fun, I decided for a couple or so weeks to run a realms server. I also want to make it clear this is NOT an official SRC server, just one that is ran by myself and another Fmod on the site here.

If you are interested in playing on this, please leave your gamertag (or simply DM me on the SRC discord). Below are a couple of simple rules which I'm sure everyone will be capable of following (I hope). Please keep in mind I have zero tolerance for people breaking the rules below, they are pretty much common sense stuff.

1. No hacking of any kind
2. No griefing (Stealing, Burning, Destroying houses, etc)
3. No harassment of any kind
4. Please do not attempt to use duplication exploits
