I’ve been playing for like a day and I’ve managed to get a 3:08 and I feel like I couldn’t possibly get close to wr
it's just like fighting games : use what you feel the most comfortable with also we have no idea which game you're talking about
Depends entirely on the game. In many cases you could be.
Also, a day isn't a very long time to be playing to be comparing yourself to WR. Again, no idea what game you're talking about, but I'm guessing the WR holder has put more than a single day into it.
I have no idea what game or category you are talking about. If you recorded the run, submit it anyway, regardless of whether it's first or last or anything in between. For most games, whether you use keyboard or controller is more of a matter of preference, though some games it's easier to do certain things on one or the other.
If you are not getting near WR, it's probably due to being less experienced in the game than its other players. Many WR's happen after hundreds or thousands of hours of practicing, attempting new runs, finding strats/routes, etc. While natural talent can play a role, there really is no substitute for practice. Also, get yourself in contact with the other runners of the game. Most games have a discord. Most experienced players enjoy helping new players.
Pick easier games to get WR in after a day if that's what you care about. Easy to get them when there's very little competition.

That's actually not always true Some games, despite having small communities or next-to no competition, have pretty optimized times
This is true drhell they do have pretty optimized times and there are a ton of games out there without any real competition or speedrunners. I plan on speedrunning a lot of those games at some point!
If you think you're special on here you clearly haven't been on long enough trust me what ever you do there's someone that does it too
