Híjole - Sub 50! This run has it all pretty much: some amazing splits, some bad ones, new speed tech, weird glitches, Robert Frost, a few semi-horrible mistakes and many, many BLAMs. RNG-wise, roulette was okay-ish, Meche and Fast Agent were amazing.
It’s such a demanding run, and despite the mistakes here and there, I’m happy to say that I finally got my ticket to the Number Nine.
Inventory layering in Remastered
You can escape some animation locks by pressing the use/action key followed by the inventory key. If timed right, you'll be in the inventory screen but unable to exit with the inventory key again - you have to click the bottom-right “Cancel” panel. Also, you need to wait a while before clicking out and regaining control (I try using sound as a cue).
- [0:28] Garage: You'll need to open/close inventory one more time to break free. After Glottis "Oh heh..." you can leave the garage (use keyboard). After his "Sales agents..." line, if you click anywhere you'll go into the dialogue. Timing it to start just as you enter the second elevator seems good.
- [8:59] Wheelbarrow: If you're fast enough, you can use the wheelbarrow right after cancelling out of the inventory. The key to saving time here is remembering to skip the dialogue while maneuvering the wheelbarrow to synchronize the pumps.
- [37:20] Toaster: Immediately after cancelling inventory, hotkey to mug, wait a fraction of a second, use mug with rack, then spam click inventory bottom icon, cancel out, and leave the room. This skips the fire extinguisher animation, and you can re-enter the room after the rocket mug. I messed this one up and cancelled out too early here.
