Broke teen, parents won't buy games, common story who cares, help me please. So I want to know about some FREE games which I can speedrun + are a ton of fun. A few I know are nitronic rush, and roguelight. And tbf, I enjoyed those a lot, especially nitronic rush. So I wanna know about some more FREE games, and btw I would be thankful if you could mention some low end ones so that I could install them on one of my crappy laptops but anyways have a great day <3

Tl;dr: all web games are free and don't need strong hardware. Apparently Roblox games are free too.
If you are looking for something more specific you will have to tell your preferences, as "free games" is very broad term.
There's a lot of free games that are listed on SRC. For example: all the webgames (and Roblox games) are free to play, yet listed in the SRC page. You can also find some free Desktop games by checking out itch.io (or any games portal), and some of them are listed in SRC.

I don’t speedrun this game but I love playing it casually. Give it a shot.
Cave Story is still free on PC, the remakes aren't but the original is and it is very good and challenging.
You could also try out Sky Quest, shoot em up, run might be very RNG tho since you need diamonds and you can get a bunch of really good stuff using them, but also doing too many quests can cause time loss and so can getting too many 100% clears
ive had a blast speedrunning deltarune. its free and can run on low end PCs (yes, i know i dont have any submitted runs, i had to make a new speedrun.com account) im in a similiar situation to you, so finding free games has becoming a bit of a habit for when im bored
the op last signed in in 2020 and they never submited anything. i dont think theyll be looking for games anymore
Try speedrunning Hero wars, complete the entire campaign. I've been doing it and it's quite fun
