Firstly, I know I'm not a guy who read the rules before speedrun this game. So maybe I'm not the best person for being mod. But this is not from nowhere, because I saw wr runs and breaking the rules was the only way to beat the wr which broke rules too. I'm talking about gallery usage in Aspiration runs. Secondly. What hilarious idea too keep "save &play" timing in maxed skill runs. I know you guys don't have time to retime runs of one guy who didn't read the rules, but still you could say "retime your run and send it again " and problem is gone. Thirdly, gallery use should be legal in aspiration runs. But separated from the "speedbuilding" bc both ways are great. More runs, no bullshit about which one is better. Separated categories for no gallery usage and gallery usage could be a thing. Ofc for aspiration and maxed skills runs, for main categories this is redundant (this is slow i guess). I'm adult so I know how hard is finding time for idk hobby? So I wanna be a mod to make a changes , to help a this small but nice community.

Ayup everyone, I haven't speedran in a while but I like to keep up with the threads and such. I would like to apologize quickly for breaking rules, at first I broke the gallery rule because the WR holder for the run I was going for did. After that I continued to break that rule because honestly rebuilding a lot is a little annoying, but I agree it should be a different category. I also think the Aspiration Lamp things should be banned, I bought Sims 3 DLC so I could beat the world record which should not be a thing.
I saw a problem with the Max Gardening skill run (the WR holder used a game pack in the none game pack category) I contacted a mod about it but no one got back to me. I agree we need new mods, because as Omega said we're all adults with lives and it can be hard to keep up with.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I think that runs with gallery use should be a separate category. Firstly, to not upset the people who submitted their runs by moving their runs into a separate category, but also because it's more pleasant to speedrun with gallery.

Yeah but for long time the only one active mod is KLucius so this is only about his decision right now. But I don't know he have time for something more than "verifying" runs- putting them on leaderboard like maxed gardening skill, so I hopeless sadge
Being new to this website, the first thing I did was read the rules, and I must agree with @omegapoggers12 that the number of "verified" runs that break the rules is astounding. It almost feels like we are encouraging cheating in this community. It feels even worse when a mod verifies their own WR run that isn't following the rules of that particular category. Something needs to change, though idk if that needs to be adding new mods, establishing a better set of rules, or both.
@PharesBueller, do you mean me? And please point out runs (in DMs) that go against the rules, even my own, obviously.
@Snowy39 I'll DM you, but in general, I do think it's a flaw within this site in and of itself. One shouldn't be able to "verify" their own runs. To really be verified, it needs to be checked by an unbiased party.
@PharesBueller, I respectfully disagree. Has been working fine for a long time. And as far as I'm aware, all my runs follow the rules. If not, please do DM me which don't, so I could edit or remove them.
