Just got a ps3 super slim so testing has resumed... http://castlevania.msnboard.net/t641p25-total-control-on-psn-ps3-achieved-xbox-tc-development#8896
On the emulator runs... I realized that we should be able to run the actual ps3 psn playstation 1 bios on bizhawk, so that might help fix some of the issues, more on that soon.
In any case I hope you realize that you're the only person in the universe that can currently verify an ACE run :D
Yeah, I don't mind evaluating (or being a mod) for the ace stuff/runs... that is fine. I just got a capture card and have been practicing the route, so I should have a ps3 run for us in the near future.
Also been testing the ps1 bios from ps2 and psp (don't have a ps3/ps1 bios yet)... they seem to cause bizhawk to lag less. If anyone wants to test these bios on bizhawk or another emulator to see if they help with lag... here http://castlevania.msnboard.net/t641p25-total-control-on-psn-ps3-achieved-xbox-tc-development#8898
Here is a tutorial ... it will show you how to perform the glitch and setup for speed runs.
I also submitted my Alucard Any% 10:19 to the leader boards, so we have at least one run on there.
Can one of the mods change the rules on ACE.
It currently says... -XBLA, PSX, Emu PSX and PSN version -No Memory Corruption -No Special Code (Luck Mode, Axe Armor) -Timed at Final cutscene initiation
Can we change it to say something similar to this... -PS, PSN Version, PS EMU (Bizhawk/Mednafen) or -PSX, PSN Version, PSX EMU (Bizhawk/Mednafen)
-Memory Corruption -No Special Code (Luck Mode, Axe Armor) -Timed at Final cutscene initiation
Thanks ;)
Done. That happened when I migrated everything into subcategories. I sort of fixed it but it is still a bit weird. What is the problem with Jin for ACE?
PSXjin and many of the other emulators will not crash if the ACE is done incorrectly and produces illegal operation codes.
For example moose's ACE tas done with PSXjin would have actually failed on Bizhawk/Mednafen and also on a real PS/PSN because he did not have the dragon helm equipped (which causes an illegal opcode/game crash).
To prevent something similar like this from happening in the future (with ACE) it would be best to use emulators that will not let illegal opcodes through... right now I personally only know of Bizhawk/Mednafen and maybe the Xebra emulator that does this.
Also I saw that TASVideos will no longer be accepting PSXjin tas, only Bizhawk/Mednafen tas after 2016-12-31 http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16917
So for ACE we also might want to be on the same page as them for future projects/runs
I'll look into Xebra sometime to see if it's okay for ace as well.
I realized that when the relics selector is out of bounds, it is so close to the inventory coding that you can use it to multiply certain items... which lets you create any item for the credits warp, so this will be the new ace setup probably. This new tech will let me cut out other major parts of the glitch too, so things are going to get even faster.
Here is a sneak peak, I will start doing some runs soon. I just kept on finding new glitches... but this is about as good as it gets for now. I can probably get 9 or 8 min ish WR run with this setup. http://castlevania.msnboard.net/t641p25-total-control-on-psn-ps3-achieved-xbox-tc-development#9140
If I beat this on ps3, will i get world wrecky ? or new category for me... actually a real question talic ?
i know you will hate this talic... but i found this.
you can use save corruption to open the the teleport door with richter on ps3... so ben's time can easily be beaten
this new category is richter any% save corruption
love you talic, you the best sotn speed runner in the world , but i am the best glitch hunter
Why I would hate this? Ben's time obviously wouldn't be beaten by this since it is a different category. That's kinda the whole point of categories.
