Certainly. However, it's a little hard to add considering all the possible options there are for forming categories. Your suggestion makes a lot of sense for the Empire at War base game, but things get a bit more complicated when you consider Forces of Corruption being that you can play as any of three factions, versus any of those same three factions.

Here's what I had in mind (entries with a - would be subcategories):

All Skirmish Battles -EaW: Land -EaW: Space -EaW: Land Control -FoC: Land -FoC: Space -FoC: Land Control

I think the faction chosen to play as and to fight against should be up to the discretion of the player, whatever they believe will get each battle done fastest The only problem left is what should the rules on the "Advanced" options be? Unchecking the option "Pre-built base" makes all the land battles stupid easy, which makes me think there should be a rule for leaving all options under the "Advanced" tab as default. Opinions?

Hm.. If you dont mind my input, id say keep it for EAW and not FOC as playing as the zann consortium you could just spam Canderous tanks or M.A.L Corps. Thus making it a race to just get them and rushing the enemy base. I think this is a great idea though, gets more runners into the game :)

Actually, an even faster way would be to just spam droidekas because with 5000 starting credits you can spam 12 right off the bat and still be able to do enough damage to win really early. Same goes for spamming T2-B tanks as rebels and AT-STs as empire. Additionally, each of these three units I mentioned has their own strengths and weaknesses: T2-Bs have good defense and are fast, AT-STs are really cheap, and I believe droidekas have the strongest firepower. So given this, any faction is similarly overpowered if you have the right strategy, but we may still see different factions being used for different maps given the strengths and weaknesses of the units. That's my take anyway.

Now the spam and raid strategy is pretty broken, but allowing any Advanced options are far worse. When unchecking pre-built base (and the end goal is to destroy the base), all you need to do is move your starting troops to the base right away. The second the AI tries to build anything, you destroy it and you win. Imo, this takes out a lot of strategy, and any chance this category has at being interesting. In addition, default options starts you at 5000 instead of 8000 credits, limiting insanely excessive amounts of spamming.

So there's some more of my two cents. Let me know of any other considerations you guys have.

Makes sense

oof, I also forgot to mention the possibility of putting other AIs on your own team. Should player + Hard AI + Hard AI against Easy AI be allowed? Personally, I think we should limit it to just the player against a single AI (easy would be fine); otherwise, people who are garbage at the game could still get decent times. I'll go ahead and add this to the rules unless someone provides a good argument otherwise and we can discuss it further.
Should we also allow glitches?
I don't know of any glitches that are really that game-breaking. All the ones I've read about sound like freak occurrences and are really hard to recreate, but let me know if you know of one which should be discussed.

Any version or patch officially released by Lucasarts/Petroglyph or whatever should definitely be fair game due to the issue that you mentioned. So feel free to use those extra fighters. However, we of course can't allow any unofficial patches or mods.

I found a site which lists all the official patches released: http://eaw.heavengames.com/patches/

Could you elaborate a bit more on what the glitch you're referring to is?

Ok, that sounds fine regardless, so any use of glitches should be fair game as far as I'm aware.
