So I have the dilemma of running games across multiple systems, but I'd still like to know when I hit that sweet cap of 50 NES speedruns. Is it entirely out of question to not just load in all games in your profile as standalone runs, but rather sorted by system category upon you just click each system individually to expand and show said runs and/or an indication by number for how many runs you have for each system.

I am requesting mod for https://www.speedrun.com/abadox Moderators have been inactive on SRC for over +1y and 2 months respectively and is not responding to social media. I have runs pending.

At the end of the day, one of our FullMods did already respond in the thread regarding its initial purpose of potentially adding a feature to the site itself. I believe that should settle the immediate purpose of the thread.

There's no downside, but there's also no need. You have the option to include your twitch/twitter at your SRC profile, those sites are more personal and made for things like that compared to SRC which mainly serves as a hub to access information on game records. As much as you don't see the downside of including it, I don't see the need of doing so here when there's better options. Chances are that if you have an SRC account, you very much in all likelihood have a twitch account, which is more suited for sharing personal information about said individual through your channel information. Or simply just get to know said runner through interacting generally.

So whilst there's no such thing as a wrong in having it adressed here, there' no real need either given the nature of a streamer for speedruns and where else they can go about being personal. My two cents ofc. This is very clearly a passion driven topic, more so for some than it is for others, I doubt everyone will see eye to eye on the matter.

isn't this place for speedruns mainly? You have plenty other options to fill in additional personal information and share with the world about yourself. Such as facebook, twitter, twitch or whatnot.

Discussed this with @Sathdresh since he seemingly had given this a blessing without me knowing. One of the reasons I shot this down initially was due to the practical issue that comes with having to deal with multiple systems and making it fair for everyone.

Ofc on a personal level, I don't condone to these types of categories in the first place, but if one must: I strongly suggest to stick to the NES trilogy ONLY as to lessen the headaches for everyone involved.

Its usually common practice for mods to at least add world records like that if users themselves doesn't. Specifically through history, there's been alot of japanese runners for instance, without SRC presence. As such: Mods usually keeps tabs on a TRUE WR for said game and just adds it themselves so people have something to go on.

Request to be made super mod for https://www.speedrun.com/the_mask as the other boy haven't been signing in on SRC for 2 months.

To make things easier on moderators end as well as runners to determine when to end timer, final frame will be the first frame of seeing The Mask initiating the scripted slide animation once final boss is defeated. Starting frame will be on first frame once the title menu starts darkening after start is picked.

All current submissions will be re-timed to accompany this change and the rules will get updated this week.

at the very least for a speedrunner today: It should be common to have twitch and youtube setup for stream attempts and backup uploads for your vods, discord being the universally best software today for direct communication. There's your tools right there. I don't endorse facebook/twitter as a norm for everyone to have by any means, society generally have gone a bit mad comes both of them. On the other hand: Email is dated compared to instant messaging and should only be used for actual business today rather than a prime means of communication imo.

@spyriel Then I would suggest once you hopefully accept the seat of super mod in the near future. You may as well give OliKad a chance to prove himself as well. He has at the very least proven to be fairly outspoken within the community and is showing interest and care from what I can tell. I'd be happy to help out if needed, I certainly will however not advocate SRC staff to mod me as of today since I do not yet have a run up for this game yet. Do not fret however, with everything that's going down at the moment, I will move Power Blade learning up on my schedule and legitimately join that position in the future, if you would have me.

I trust Butz a whole hell of alot more than I do you timmy, given your recent outburst regarding clips in glitchless. I advice you not to throw any stones aimed at anyone. This thread isn't about tarnishing the good name of Butz whom did an excellent job during his time here. And went above and beyond in dealing with the idiocy that was you in that locked thread. Got word from Butz, he is officially retiring.

I am working on getting spyriel to take over,he's accepted the idea of it.

spyriel is the only name in the top that I trust as an active runner and potential moderator, he's also already knowledged in framecounting and moderates other games. Chambers and Richie, even kozzx I believe: unfortunately have already made it clear that they do not want the position no longer. And most of the others frankly are lacking the english required for the position. No offense to you at all Oli, im just not personally familiar with you as a runner yet.

That being said: We still don't know Butz' situation and why we're in this place to begin with yet, only SRC staff can check the audit log at this point to verify what happened.

Reaching out to Butz on Discord, could take a few hours til we hear from him. His SRC profile states he's no longer mod on this game either. Not sure if this was an accident or a glitch. I nominated spyriel to take over, hopefully we'll know more soon

I'm not sure what's going on at https://www.speedrun.com/power_blade right now, but we lost our mod (Butz). If this was done by SRC staff or from him by accident is beyond the community at this point, im attempting to reach out to him in private. Meanwhile, the board is currently left alone without any moderators in place. I'm willing to be a placeholder for now until the matter is settled. I Know a fair amount of the route and I grew up with the game, just never submitted an actual run.

Alternatively I suggest spyriel to take up the mantel as he's an active speedrunner since a few years back.

Edit: Butz confirmed on DM he is retiring and do not plan to return

Edit #2: I've discussed with spyriel in private and we as a community have discussed the matter in public at the forums. He would be willing to take the position as mod.
