I was thinking about adding an additional category to the game: Become a Squire. It would essentially be a race to get recognized by the King and get your first rank. The appeal of this is in how it doesn't seem clear at the onset what the quickest way to do this would be. It would also involve quite a bit of RNG, which could increase the replayability.
Any thoughts?
They had an updated video submitted but no one had verified it. I verified it and deleted the actually-worse result from the dead account.
Requesting moderator access to the game Dynowarz: Destruction of Spondylus: https://www.speedrun.com/dynowarz_destruction_of_spondylus
My submitted run is now over a month old. I've attempted to contact the moderator via message on this board without a response. Their Twitter doesn't allow for messages from un-mutuals, and they appear to be inactive on every other method of communication now for over a year.
May I be added as a moderator for the game Iron Tank: The Invasion of Normandy? https://www.speedrun.com/iron_tank
I know my run submission has been up there for like 10 minutes now but the game does not currently have a moderator (I believe the previous one deleted their account). So I don't think waiting is going to accomplish much.
Yeah, looks awesome, thanks!
Side note: now that there is a Two Loops category for Colecovision, I am tempted to try that. Not because of the leaderboard, but because to my knowledge this has never been done ever. I think I hold the unofficial High Score WR (emulator) and I think on that run I died at Saturn haha.
I asked Darkwing about this before, and he's fine with his runs being submitted on his behalf but he just doesn't want to use this site for whatever reason (probably something something SDA). I wouldn't have ever bothered you about it except it looks like you found it on your own :)
"Official SDA Timing" makes sense for some games, but I think it's easier to simply start timer when you hit the start button. It's probably why that sort of timing has went out of vogue. But I don't do the NES run (yet?) so it's not terribly relevant to me. The Colecovision version doesn't have any sort of load screen so there's no reason for a timer offset there.
If it is available in the Apple Store and otherwise appears to be the same game, I don't see why not! I would mention that I played it on desktop using a program called Bluestacks, which is an android emulator. My phone couldn't possibly both play an app and record simultaneously :)
The link to your Discord in your profile here and on your Twitch page does not work. I was hoping to get more info about this.
I would like to submit a speedrun for this game, but under a different category, as I have played it on the Colecovision. The game is too different to submit to an existing category, I think. Here is a run I did today to give an idea of what this looks like:
The game has a bonus stage after Earth and then loops back to the beginning (similar enough to the NES version). I drew up the speedrun to end once Earth is in sight since ending on a bonus stage seemed silly.
I would submit this run under the category but am not done running this and hope to get a good deathless run in soon. Thank you!
Watched the runs posted here, and the version of this game I've played (on Colecovision) is longer and quite different. Would you make a Colecovision category for the game? Goal would be to save Smurfette (which happens about a minute into the game).
Here's an example run to compare:
May I be added as a moderator for the game Pepper 2? I submitted a run over 21 days ago and the mod appears to have not logged into the site for over 9 months. There is no contact information on his account to reach him otherwise.
Thank you for your time. Here's a direct link to the game: https://www.speedrun.com/Pepper_2
Could a Colecovision category be added for this game?
I've had the desire to run this game for a while, but after playing it and comparing it to the runs on here, it's apparent that the Colecovision version is too different of a game to put on the same level as the arcade one. It's slower, but you have to kill less enemies (I think) and the 2001 level doesn't even exist (making the loop quicker). I recorded a trial version to give you an idea of what that means:
