It's always seemed very pointless and just doesn't fit well with this game. Considering you can't actually choose the episode you want to play without a save file at the start of it. And there arent enough save slots to save at the start of every episode. And not to mention the episodes are so short all of the IL'S would be optimised within a couple of days.
Raid mode has variety, campaign doesn't and having them both on the same board would be a cluster fuck
yep even windows 8 has that feature
for future reference windows 10 has a built in mount option when you right click an ISO, no need to download one
You can walk up the stairs too while the cutscene plays but very pointless 4Head
whichever way you look at it regardless of the category or game if JPN version is the fastest and they have 1st place they hold the true WR. Separating regions doesn't give US/EU players a chance to get a WR because how can you hold a WR for a Specific Region? if your region is slower and it's separated from a faster region you have 1st place, nothing more nothing less.
Unless the New Meme is Region Record EleGiggle
Uninstall the game via control panel and make sure the folders in C drive disapear after. Reinstall with the older tutorial but download the directx fix exe from the description and replace the exe you get from the install with that.
Make sure you use the iso instead of the rar file to install the game
Hopefully that makes sense
The game is barely active as it is and it's not getting anymore popular.
Currently this game has 3 active runners, 1 being myself. The need for all 3 of the games difficulties just isn't there. And tbh it never was there to begin with.
New game Normal is slower than casual for 1 minor reason and thats the placement of the rifle. Obtaining the rifle doesn't require anymore skill it's just simply in a spot that takes an extra 2minutes to get. The route, enemy placements, and almost all items/parts are in the same places as Casual.
NG+ Normal is even more pointless because its basically no different to Casual.
Makes much more sense to have easiest/hardest rather than all 3 considering Normal is practically the same as Casual
in the RE series we want video proof for all of the games. It doesn't matter where you sit on the leader boards everyone is treated the same regardless of skill level.
Videos provide clear evidence that the run is legitimate, this is a strict rule with absolutely no exceptions.
Ask in the RE discord i'm sure someone can help you. Link is in this thread http://www.speedrun.com/resident_evil/thread/iofjz
i assume you were talking about the Console WR, couldn't find anything wrong with the PC WR at a quick glance.
Rejected the Console WR because he did infact use the Supply Box Pre-order bonus and defence scroll
Added some lines to the rules because apparently "New Game ONLY" isn't clear enough.
also thanks for pointing it out.
it's barely even 1 second difference, 2 plug is just more convenient since you only need to dodge the basement licker once and not use item box. also no need to use the club key fully
if you want to keep a first aid during red hallway i would recommend 2 plug route but deposit knife, that way you can have a First aid in red hall and during the lab if you need it. Then when you get confidant enough to not need a first aid just keep the knife and the route doesn't change.
I would say no too it would make the run segmented. Seems like game crashes happen to a lot of people (myself included) it's just one of those unfortunate things, it sucks but rules are rules.
It doesn't matter if its ng or ng+ we have a huge back log of runs to look at. Currently 38 runs need to be checked and verified, they aren't done in any specific order. All i can say is be patient we have lives outside of this website
Personally i would say no pre order stuff allowed because its something not everyone has access to but thats just my opinion
Seems exactly the same as revelations cutscene speedup. It's happens completely at random and cannot be replicated unless the game decides to do it. i can almost 100% guarentee we will not have control over this skip.
I noticed him save but he only had 2 retrys in total both of which are on the final boss. Must have missed that part if he did infact load a save. But yeah the rules state single segment ONLY so if he did load his run is not valid.
Saving is fine as long as the save isn't loaded.
I never will understand why that file is missing for some people but not for others, but yeah use the ISO unless dara gave you the file already
If the decision is made to split regions then be prepared for a huge overhaul of the entire leaderboard. (it would also fix other little problems)
i made a quick mock up of what i think would be best way of changing the board (if it was to be changed) http://www.speedrun.com/Umbrella_Corps/full_game#PC
Each version has it's correct Sub categories, for example Regions aren't shown for PC and Hard mode is only shown for the versions that have it.
Emulators are in the same Leaderboard as console but separated by a Sub category.
Obviously it doesn't have to be that way but personally i think it looks cleaner, just my opinion.
PSP and PS3 are merged with the "PSN" category but again are separated by a sub category. This is something i wasn't sure about, But it works.
this is how i think the board should be IF it was changed. This would take quite some time to re-do the entire board.
Personally i think the boards are fine as they are right now and i will not be involved with any changes that are made.
Just the thought alone that regions could be separate is absolutely ridiculous and it's not something i want to be a part of. By default it ruins what "World Record" Really means.
low FPS is a known issue it's known mostly as "pal mode" but it's actually quite a rare occurrence and usually it's a very simple fix. but to answer your question, yes. most if not all runners can run the game at a steady 30 frames without the need to have anything open, myself included.
seems like an issue with the install since you barely have any regedit files though
