I think it's a bit unfair that the community doesn't even bother making a seperate Emulator category, old hardware is becoming more and more expensive, for example, trying to get a 1019 memory card is pretty much an investment.
When it comes to competition if you're not willing to invest you don't want to compete.
Invest if you want to compete.
Asking others to change the competition in order for you to merely be included...? Why not just play for fun then.
I would participate if the game had proper keybinding and accessibility features within the challenge timeframe. Currently it does not and is not playable. edit: disregard
The lack of lag on emulator is pretty nice. Free timesave!

Disabled comments on all Out There Somewhere runs.
Just get rid of pronouns and solve the problem from the source.
Misc runs hidden by default and with no tab to view them unless they are the 'main' category in the hierarchy?
Example: https://www.speedrun.com/simpark
Edit: Looks like this got fixed at least.
Can runs on emulator be submitted?
Any restrictions to particular emulators or settings therein?

Heads up to all who use Youtube for your run archives:
RUNS AT RISK
Per Google's recent update, unlisted YouTube videos from before January 1st, 2017 will be made private on July 23rd, 2021 unless a user opts out.
This essentially means that any speedrun submitted to Speedrun.com before 2017 as an unlisted video will become permanently unwatchable unless a user:
Opts out of the change, Changes the share setting to public, or Re-uploads the video as an unlisted video and updates the url link on Speedrun.com The below runs (see the banner at the top of SRcom for this list) have been flagged as YouTube videos uploaded to Speedrun.com before January 1st, 2017. https://www.speedrun.com/runsatrisk
Please note that this may include both listed and unlisted videos, and includes both whether you were the player or the submitter. For any run at risk, we recommend either opting out of the change, changing the share setting to public, or re-uploading the video (if it is your own) as an unlisted video and updating the link on Speedrun.com
Opt Out here: https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/older_unlisted_update
Yeah let's come together as a community and bring out the best of what we appreciate about this 'girls can be heroes* too' simulator.
Bury the relics of the past.
