Sub 4 Cell Easy in a Single Segment! Thanks to Tatinho for the fun competition and making it really fun to hit this big mile stone :D

California, USA

Big update for Spore: -rowrow_ agreed to have his WR back on the board for "Center of the Galaxy" Easy. -The two normal runs for "Center of the Galaxy" were returned. -Removed the full game categories "Ally the Grox" and "Omnipotent" and their subsequent ILs in Space Stage. -Removed the 100% categories for 'Cell' and 'Creature' Stages. (Only CrazedCobalt and myself had runs in these categories and we agreed on their removal.)

It looks so much better without all those unnecessary categories. Good job B) b

I have a better way to stream Spore and I am going to try and stream more often!

Civilization Stage individual level leader board I now feel is optimized to the max! With Cell and Civ complete time to move onto Space Stage! All difficulties should be the same with the NG+ strats; difficulty is kind of irrelevant, and I think a sub 9:30 is possible!

I found some interesting tech! There are 16 different home planets for the player. This only matters in Creature/Tribal/Civ. But it is very important for Civ stage. if you play Civ enough you see the game always puts you on a continent with your city and 3 other rival cities, out of 5 possible locations, and this continent has 4-6 spice geysers on it. I found the planets range from 12-18 spice geysers total, with 2-5 in the water. Most importantly, on the starting continent there are 8 planets with 6 geysers, 4 planets with 5 geysers, and 4 planets with 4 geysers. I have pictures of every planet's mini maps if anyone would like to see.

Now that we know there only 16 different planets, we should start finding and running each of these different planets in Creature/Tribal/Civ stages to find which is the best planet for each stage to make the speed run the fastest. I have done a lot of research into Civ stage, since it is my favorite, and I am starting to figure out the best planet for running. Notice which planet I used in my 4:49 Easy time, I think is the fastest. But Creature and Tribal still need a lot of work. We need to find all the migration patterns, if the 70DNA extinction reward locations are consistent, all the starting locations, possible spawn location for rival tribes, which planet has the most and closest plants nearby the starting home tribe.... And now with my newest Space Stage run, the idea of using wormholes to reach the center, has blown this game wide open! I have starting wormhole mapping but I bet there are better wormholes that could bring us closer to the center and that are closer to the starting home planet.

I really hope people are still active and want to help me optimize this game to the max! I think a sub 45 minute Easy Full Game is possible.

More interesting info. I played Spore on another computer and in Space, everything in the galaxy is in the exact same place, however, every system and wormhole are named differently and every wormhole is connected to differently. All the wormholes are in the same locations but they send you to a different one. I only have a sample size of two so if other people could check out the wormhole at these in game coordinates "1.31°, 1,228.31(pc)" and tell me where you wind up, that would great. The coordinate system did not change between computers. Find your coordinates by hovering over the tiny ship icon on the bottom of the screen just above the progress bar.

In creature stage, there is only one migration pattern per planet. Every creature stage for a particular planet starts and migrates to the exact same locations. I thought it would be closer to starting from Civ stage from the main menu, where you could start in one of actually 6 starting locations.

Also there are only 15 different planets, and 7 of the have 6 spice geysers on the starting continent.

Sup guys, imma try a normal% run of this soon. Are wormholes useful at all in the Normal% space stage? I noticed that the easy run for just space stage uses a wormhole to finish the stage really fast, but the normal% wr doesn't use it.

Also, here's a useful link - someone already mapped wormholes out all the way back in 2009.

California, USA

Thank you for sharing the link, that is incredible!

The wormhole strategy is fairly new and has not been implemented into the normal% runs yet (which are over a year old). However, using wormholes should be useful on every difficulty but are definitely not a requirement. Unfortunately every runner has to do their own wormhole mapping for their personal galaxy.

Good luck with your runs :)

Thanks, I guess I'll try mapping out my wormholes before trying my normal run.

Hey, I recently found a spice duplication glitch for space stage. Basically, you beam down spice, then ask to trade with the planet. Then, you quickly buy the spice for 0 Sporebucks, and then immediately after, you beam up the spice really quickly. Now you have double of what you first had.

My question is: would this trick be legal for normal%?

California, USA

Yes, perfectly legal! Speed running is all about using glitches and manipulating the game to go as fast as possible.

I did a quick search around and I could not find any spice duplication videos, can you make a quick showcase video? I would love to see it, and to make sure you get credit for discovering it!

Alright, I'll make a video as soon as I can.

Oooh spice duplication PogChamp I might do more runs soonly or in the near future who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Its good to see new faces and enthusiasm for this game. I got a little tired of this game so i stopped doing runs but i want to still be an active member here, i never truly went away. I might consider giving some competition for normal full game. Any of y'all can message me on my social medias listed on my profile if you have any questions, i know just as much as good ol' KinglyValence here, although he's the real Spore rules guru. Any new participation is more than welcome, and im glad to see more people wanting to participate.

Sorry, a bit of it got cut off, and the amounts duped were really glitchy because I broke it a little by trying to dupe more than the planet could hold.

A couple notes about this: -You can only do this on your planets, and it only works with the same type of spice that the planet holds -Once again, don't try to dupe more than the planet can hold -Each time, you get a little more spice. A way to make this more useful is to get 10 or 11, drop them off on your home planet, then go back and dupe some more. Each time you go drop it off on the home planet. After just a few times, you'll have a decent amount of green/pink/purple spice, and then you can take it all to the best price and sell it for a good profit.

The way this is done is that you beam the spice you want to dupe down, then scroll out to exit the planet but NOT the system. As soon as you get out of the planet, go back in without clicking on any other planets. Then, go back to where you dropped off the spice. When you open up the trade window, the amount you dropped off should be available for 0 Sporebucks. Buy all the spice for 0 sporebucks, and then IMMEDIATELY, right after you click the "Buy" button, you INSTANTLY beam back up the spice you dropped. If you take too long, it'll disappear, and you won't have duped anything. It's not too precise, but you still gotta be quick.

That is really cool! I tried it a bit, myself. Looking forward to some normal% competition potentially with the three of us. Optimistically I think the category could go under an hour!

California, USA

says normal% can sub 1 hour optimistically, then gets 55:14 DansGame 'grats on the run

i was trying to go for some tribal ILs but got frustrated at the incredibly incompetent AI of the tribemembers. i finally stopped because the game crashed. we run a totally perfect game and there is nothing wrong with it Keepo i could talk in lengths about how the AI is totally inept causing me to lose large chunks of time in one fell swoop. Tribal is confirmed worst stage, but is the stage at which i am best, NotLikeThis

maxis fix your game, sincerely everyone ever. Kappa

I would like to see a mini map of every spore home world
