Hi,
I am teaching myself speed running and am stuck on 1-3.
Every speed run I watch starts with a mini jump over the first turtle.
I found this to be difficult, so hard that I downloaded a TAS tool to inspect it.
If you hold right and B the entire time, you have to press A at the exact right frame and hold it for exactly four frames. This is the only way I could get this to work.
This seems crazy hard to me. Am I missing something?
iirc, it's not necessarily a four frame jump; it can be less than that. i didn't hear about it being a 4 frame jump until now. just do a flick jump and there's a nice audio cue that i follow and it works beautifully. even then, you can do the safer strat where you stomp on the koopa and kick it to the bro or carry the shell and collide with the bro
Thanks. I don't think my keyboard is sensitive enough to do a four frame jump, so I'll probably pursue a different strat and just jump to the music block.
You might consider, as an easier/beginner strat, bonking the first koopaling, then bonking it on its left side so that he goes to the right to kill the bro. This is much easier, removes the danger of bro, builds pspeed easily, and only costs a second or two. glhf
