Do you happen to know what the score is supposed to be for the 100% category?

I'm curious about this category, myself. The end of the only current run just shows him verifying after the run that he's found 100% of the flashback items. You can see his score as he flips through the menu, but it looks like he's only really interested in showcasing the flashback screen.

I just submitted my own run yesterday where I grabbed all flashback items, but skipped the red door puzzle (which is optional, since you can bypass it by using secret passages). I hadn't really thought too hard about whether this would be disqualifying, but I guess if I were designing a 100% category from the ground up, it'd probably include solving all puzzles, too.

I think it'd be helpful to spell out the criteria for 100% more clearly.

Hi ImpliedKappa, I have no idea when I became a moderator for this game but it must have been recently, I have no means of communicating with firsttenorman but to me the current 100% run by Daxsun should not qualify.

To me, in order to complete the game 100% you need to have: collected all ixupi, get all flashbacks, and complete all the puzzles, including red door, the complete gypsy puzzle, and both variants of the elevator puzzle.

I dont think max score matters because that would require you to look at every plaque in the game and that's just super slow.

Yeah, the current description for 100% is super vague, and the way Daxsun verifies at the end of the room just led me to believe he only cared about flashback items, but that doesn't seem very 100%

There are actually 3 different versions of the elevator puzzle: 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6. After you successfully solve a set number of 4x4 puzzles, every elevator will only have 5x5, and after you've solved a set number of those, everything switches to 6x6 for the rest of the game. I think it's 3 4x4 and 3 5x5 before it switches, but don't hold me to that; I don't really go out of my way to do elevator puzzles now that I know you only need to solve one to beat the game optimally.

So would the criteria include that a 100% run solves one 6x6 puzzle? Three 6x6 puzzles?

I definitely agree on solving red door and the three optional pieces of the scavenger hunt (fortune teller, planets, stone slab), and that reading every plaque and pushing every rooms audio tour button would be silly, not to mention really painful to verify runs for.

In any case, DaxSun's run is painfully unoptimized, and if we can agree on a definition for 100%, I'd love to grab an easy WR. I could probably get GameBop to pop in and weigh in, too, since he's been sitting in on several of my most recent runs and offering advice.

Technically you do need at least 3 elevator puzzles in order to get to windlenot's room for that flashback, honestly, if there's that much elevator nonsense involved to get to 6x6, (because honestly, who needs to use the elevator that much anyway?) you should probably only need to do those three. I can edit the runs and their rules, I hope Tenorman is cool with it, I have tried to contact Daxsun in the past and have never gotten a response, so hopefully it doesn't matter too much, since he never really qualified for 100% in the first place.

Funny so much discussion is happening for this now that it's over a year and a half after the question was asked. Anyway, I mostly agree with you guys on this, that a good requirement for 100% should involve doing all optional puzzles, the full museum scavenger hunt, and finding all flashback items. I'm pretty sure you only do 2 of each Elevator puzzle variant before it moves on to the next, though I would require doing the 6x6 once because the "difficulty" change seems notable enough, but doing it twice or more doesn't unlock anything further at that point. Additionally, I wouldn't bother with much of what involves the actual score in game, because I'm pretty sure you can just keep doing the elevator puzzles to constantly raise it, leading to no real max score.

Hmm, ok, I'll do some testing later today on the elevators, for now we'll maintain that you should complete all three variants.

After testing it seems that yeah it takes 3 solves of each before getting the 6x6, this however wasn't too hard because you can grind them out at the same elevator (which you dont need to use), it took me maybe a minute and a half or so.

In other news, I have tested the gog version and it seems much more stable than my copy, (other than some graphical weirdness with the Crystal head) and I'll probably be using it for my runs from now on, I'll create a forum post about the complete rules for 100% and sticky it, happy running guys!

Hey guys! I've been reading all of the messages in here. I made Krazaz a mod of Shivers because I haven't had the time lately to check all the time for runs and let-alone, watch them. Krazaz I appreciate you helping out this very small community while I've been away. Because of this, I will let YOU (Krazaz) decide what 100% means. I didn't take into account the red door, the elevator puzzles, etc.

Thanks for your help! Happy running!

Thanks Tenorman, didn't want to step on any toes, I appreciate it.

Ha! I assumed responding to this thread in the first place was just going to be a futile effort, but I'm pleasantly surprised that everyone but DaxSun has weighed in and there's actually a well-defined category now.

I've got birthday festivities lined up over the next few days, but I'd imagine I'm going to be making a claim for that WR and screenshotting it before someone more capable (GameBop) gives it a properly optimized time.
