back when this level wasn't skipped in runs, you would avoid spin dashing too fast after the first hit or you would stand up and die, however if you spindash fast enough you have enough time to hold a spindash before getting hit. i piano roll 4 times then turn around to save some rta time. for the boss fight i hold a jump once tails passes the black line on the top, then i piano roll and hold the buttons and down once tails gets to a low blue/white line thats about the height of sonic. this isn't consistent but this was an ok method. you have to keep holding down so tails stays in a spindash, but you can move by moving diagonally left or right. to get an optimal boss fight you need to hit the last 3 hits as low as possible. there are basically 2 good setups you can get, the one i get in this video is a bit slower. the most optimal setup is to hold down/right once the boss goes down, you want to go inside the ship a bit right before the dome then do a very light jump and insta-shield, that way you can get as low as possible, the problem with that is if you are off even a little bit you will get hit

As of today, any new submissions of S3K from the Steam version will no longer be allowed. This is due to a couple of factors but mostly being inhibited availability as SEGA delisted it when releasing Origins. Any existing runs will remain unaffected.
