Hi people,
Is there any difference of speed between the versions? Things like loadings and menus.
from what i've been told (i don't run this game) ps3 is the fastest version. it beats the ps4/ps2 version, by loading times and menuing and a few other things as well.
HD Version on PS3/360 is the fastest.
Which of the consoles is the fastest isn't yet known. It's never been put to the test. Most people run PS3 though.
hallo! o/ the japanese PS3/360 HD version is the fastest, PS4 is technically just the PS2 version so it has 7 minutes of unskippable credits on the end that add on to IGT, same goes for gamecube and emulators~ Load times are faster too, and so is opening the inventory menu! (especially in the PAL PS4 version, theres like a 3 second difference just from opening the inventory screen and not going anything...)
Hope this helps! vOv
Yes, it is necessary to make different categories. PS2, GCN, PS3, Xbox 360 and Sega Dreamcast. Because only PS3 and Xbox 360 CVX HD versions are the fastest game and you can skip end credits, but on PS2 or GCN or Sega you can't skip the end credits.
Man its my problem, yeah. But the game have different times on HD and no HD. I told its like for example RE3 PC with skip doors and RE3 consoles with no skip doors. Be not silly.
What about other people ? Who never played on ps3, how they should get wr? buy ps3? BECAUSE one Admin (with high opinion about yourself) has ps3. Just tell me how i should get WR on DC version if cant skip creadits? Should i delete files (credits) from game?
It's not about having the fastest time on a certain console. As of right now, it's pretty safe to say that my 1:38'23 and 1:39'05" are the best runs on the boards in terms of optimisation. (Not trying to blow my own horn but a lot of people will agree)
If someone does a run that is as optimised as my runs, I will change the categories so that people can run on an emulated potato and call it a WR. Until then, people need to put time into their runs and make them better. I have put ATLEAST 800 hours into CVX, and to have someone else come out of the woodwork and do a shit run and call it a WORLD RECORD is very degrading.
I think it goes like this in terms of speed:
Fastest: PS3/360 Decent: PS2/PS4 (virtually the same version) Not that decent: Gamecube (disc change) Slow: Dreamcast (disc change, no manual glitch)
If you can't run it on a real console I suggest PS2 emu would be the convenient way. I don't think it's necessary to separate categories at all.
But where's the PAL category though. FUNgineer
As I was telling Trance earlier, this would be easier if there was a standardized emulator for CVX. Dolphin is likely the best emulator you can run this game on as it is designed already for TAS, not for casual play. That way, people looking for cheap records would have to beat Nurma, who is more than a competent player at this game.
PCSX2 has a lot of customizable options that alter how the game loads, slowdown among other things. It's designed for casual play with no intent for speedrunning behind its development. Bringing that thing in as standard would (in my opinion) be silly.
