My friend and I have been getting into speedrunning the co-op RSG category. While we have an okay time, we noticed that most runs are in 1.14.4 while we run in 1.15.2. Is there a reason for people running in 1.14.4 as opposed to later versions?

1.14.4 allows infinite villagers restock, which is the technique used by most speedrunners to get sub 30 runs. This method was patched in 1.15, only allowing 3 restocks per day or so

Also 1.14.4+ tnt drops 100% of the items is destroys all making Savannah village strats viable

Why are most speedruns 1.14.4?
