Red Plumber Adventure Obby Guide!

In this guide, I will go through all of the strats top runners use and go through how to do them. Hope you like this guide!

Some of the strats I will cover here are for runners who have experience in the game, (at least a sub 10:30) so don't do some of these strats if you are a beginner.

This level is basically nearly all about movement, so you may have a bit of problems with it at first, but with time your movement will eventually get better.

Example run:

Mushroomy Land

There isn't much to go over in Mushroomy Land, but there is a jump saving about 1 second. I would recommend going sideways for this jump as it is much easier than going forwards and doing the jump.

Turtle Canyon

At the start of Turtle Canyon, we find skittles that we need to jump on to get further in Turtle Canyon. We jump on the rightmost skittle and the middle skittle at the start, then play the rest of it normally.

Arid Arid Desert

This is just movement and cycles. If you get good movement and cycles here you should be able to do this pretty well.

Bloop Bloop Ocean

This is pretty much just movement as well, however, there is 1 thing that saves 3 seconds if done well. If you go to the pieces of wood next to the ship and jump to the ledge you can grab onto it and skip going on the ladder and back up to the other ladder.

Dino Island

This area is basically just movement, but you can jump over the fire buddies to save a bit of time from not going a longer path to the Volcano.

Rumble Volcano

Do the tightest corner cuts you can in this stage and have good movement. On the 'Maze' part after Volcano Checkpoint, go on the side where there is a 1 stud gap, this saves about 2 - 4 seconds.

Sky World

This is a movement-based level as well, on the beanstalk, there is a jump you can do to skip going on some part of it. On the 4th platform, jump up to the platform to the top left of it.

Here is a diagram for it. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/611992317515137045/733642357165129748/unknown.png

Forest Maze

Forest Maze starts out with a maze, for anyone who doesn't know the route for the maze, here is a picture with a line I drew depicting the route for the Maze.

After you have done the maze, jump over the mushroom to skip going around it and do the best movement you can to get to the next level.

Underground

Underground is just movement, but jump over the 'Goombas' instead of going around them. The key hitbox is a bit bigger than the key itself so you can get the key without actually touching the key.

Spooky Mansion

In Spooky Mansion, you would normally need to get 3 keys (Red, Green, and Yellow in order) but if you don't die from Arid Arid Desert to Spooky Mansion you can use the key from the Pyramid on the yellow key door, this saves about a minute. There are strats where you jump from the 4th or 3rd stair on the staircase onto the railing, formally only used in IL world records.

Toy Land Skip

This is probably as or more annoying than Dino Island, the shy guys are faster than the Fire Buddies in Dino Island and you don't get much space to dodge them. There is a skip where you jump from the trampoline onto the side of the map, I'd recommend turning 90 degrees to make it a bit safer and it only loses a small amount of time from the optimal Toy Land Skip.

Mount Mole

Mount Mole is a movement-based level as well, but there is a high jump at the start when you are going into the main part of the level that saves about 0.8 seconds.

DK Jungle

DK Jungle is the cause of some of mine and Vizu's 9:53 pace runs not finishing. All I can really say here is that this is another movement-based level and that you can jump a bit before going onto the grassy platforms to keep some of your speed.

Sherbet Valley

One of my most favourite levels, Sherbet Valley is like Volcano where you can do Corner Cuts to save time and keep near the edge/walls of paths. On the platforms to the slide, you can jump from the 2nd one instead of the 3rd to save about 1 second.

There is a fling here that I won't go into much detail on, when I am near the end of the slide, I press spacebar for a really small amount of time, giving me a fling. It is kind of RNG (luck) where you end up when you do this fling, sometimes you might lose the entire run by getting a really bad angle or maybe not even getting the fling at all.

Rainbow Avenue

Possibly the worst level in Red Plumber Adventure Obby. Make sure the cars are spawned before the run or hope that the people in the server do not take the Cars and use them before you. What I recommend is that after going on a slope wait a bit before turning again so your car does not turn 7 billion degrees in a single second.

When you are in the air after doing the jump with the conveyor, do not hold W, A, S, or D, this will give you a higher chance of your car not flipping over after the jump.

Bow Wow's Castle & Troopa Fleet

I'm putting these 2 stages together because it would not be worth it to put it into 2 parts. These levels are movement-based as well. When you are doing the corner cuts, try to get as close to the edge of the corners and jump off them to get to the next corner, do this for all of the corners in these levels.

There is a strat that no one has managed to do in a full-game run, but I have managed to do in an IL, if you hold space bar while on the back of the truss and hold W, you can bounce between the truss and the wall, then if you can wrap around to the front of the truss you can basically skip climbing most of the truss. This saves about 1.5 seconds if done well.

On the firebars and the smaller bullet bills, hope that cycles are friends with you so you can either walk on the platforms or jump over them easily. With the bullet bills, you can stop for about a second before it disappears if that can help at all. :)

On the bigger bullet bill, there are 2 ways to do it.

1) You can take the platforms and be safe on this part, but it loses a significant amount of time over Option 2. It is the ideal strat for beginners.
2) You make use of the Bullet Bill's hitbox and either, a.) wrap around the bullet bill, or b.) walk right past the bullet bill, this is the riskier strat as you could get either too close to it when doing the wrap-around or walking right past it, or you could miss the platform and fall to the lava.

Final Battle

You have made it to the end of the run! Here, the bullet bills and fireballs can screw you over if you aren't paying attention. You can stop for about a second here if needed and still get a 29 - 31 second time for the final battle. Going to the side of the platform where Bow Wow is, is much safer than taking the riskier strat of going nearer to the middle where you are more vulnerable to his fireballs. Timing stops when hitting the axe.

That's the end of the guide! If you need any help with this, you can DM me on Discord. My username and tag is Lusonice2021#5090.

Run timing changes

As some of you may have noticed, all new runs are now being timed with milliseconds, mostly to avoid a huge number of ties in IL runs. This means we will have to look through and retime all IL runs, as they do not currently use milliseconds. All IL runs with an unavailable video will be rejected
