I did it. After over a week of grinding, 25+ sub 16s, 9 15.8s or better, and FIVE separate 15.767s, I finally managed to get the infamous Red Ball 2 speedgolfing WR. The fact that this is an untied is nothing short of insane, as after the five .767s I was ready to merely tie Xbox's run and be done with it.
The setup for the barrier skip is 6 frame perfects and a 2 frame window, with the hardest parts being at the very start with nothing but a timer and instinct to time the initial left press and a 1 frame tap that my keyboard is very inconsistent at, and the barrier skip itself that has an extremely short release timing. After the barrier skip, all that's left is to not choke the ending movement, which is far easier said than done; countless sub 16s I had were either tied with or ahead of WR at the final star only to choke the very end.
15.6 is absolutely possible, and a 15.5xx is likely to be the final frontier for RTA runs unless a new setup or other strat is found in the level. Regardless, I am done with Red Ball 2 speedgolfing for now, and will return to 7:3x fullgame attempts.
