PolandI remember that in one game due to the glitch found in one of the levels that certain IL has been separated into the glitchless and the glitch sub-categories due to how much of time the glitch could save. As much as in the previous version of src it didn't affect the leaderboard that much, it did in the latest version where instead of just a WR there are top 3 results in each IL. Due to such a change, the top 3 of that IL show both the best Glitch time and the best Glitchless time which have been set by the same guy. So perhaps making a sub-category just for that may not be the best option. But what could be an option is to remove the requirement of playing the latest version due to the handicap one could have by playing the version with the explained glitch. Perhaps the players when submitting their runs from such a point on could state which version they were playing? I think it could be optional in case it's meant to be stated in a run description. Another option is to create a variable "game version" where one could choose which version they've played. That info would be displayed on the leaderboard which would be the same for all versions. Though it could be tough, so probably the best idea would be to let players play whatever the version they want and to optionally state game version in the run description.
I'd say in such a case I'd introduce subcategories in world 8 with one being pre-1.2.12 and another one being 1.2.12. Although the bug vastly affects world 8, I think it's also worth adding a variable in the full game runs. Such a variable would be game version and the options to choose would be the same as the world 8 subcategories. The reason why full game runs should have these just as variables and not as the separate subcategories is that despite the bug the gaps are still going to be quite huge due to mistakes being made in other sections and the pace of a player. And that's how I'd see things.
While playing the game for the 1st time I couldn’t help but notice world 8 was weird with one thing. Every single level of that world except for the first one was starting with a death and therefore with a level restart. At first I thought it could just be an issue for Android. But playing story mode on iOS proved me wrong. The same phenomenon kept happening. It didn’t matter to me that much since I could still finish the game. But speedrunning world 8 only became quite a big issue. Not only that, but also restarting world 8 run would initially stop the countdown because of the “death.” Another run restart would spawn me out of bounds and therefore I’d have to die to be spawned in a proper starting point. I’m writing about that since it affects world 8 speedruns quite badly with an independent 1-2 sec time loss per each level whereas the only run of the world doesn’t seem to suffer from the bugged deaths. In the attached video you can see why I’m concerned about that. My gameplay is quite cringe, but it’s not worth any focus for the sake of the bugged deaths.

Now the splits are shown. I swear though that like 1 or 2 hours ago the splits weren’t visible.
So sometimes the splits mag just not show up at all? That's weird. Definitely needs a fix.
On some leaderboards I could see some runs are labelled as "has splits". But when I click on the run to see the splits, I can't see them anywhere. Is it just a glitch or is it somewhere I haven't checked?

I thought it'd be a good idea to put the updated ranked tracks' leaderboards. I've only had a few consoles, but out of all of them I'd say XBOX 360. No need for the Internet connection, the games don't take long to be installed. The games may not be as realistic as on newer generations, but I had fun playing them.
After the most recent update whenever I try to search for the X360 games, it's only good until page 1. Trying to go to page 2 of the search resets the platform to "any" and therefore instead of showing page 2 of X360 games the browser shows page 2 of all games registered on src. Such a thing wasn't a case before the update.
I'm sorry if any of my points has already appeared here, but I'd like to leave a feedback regarding the new appearance:
- src logo - the version with no trophy (with plain text speedrun.com) stayed unchanged, but the version with a trophy seems to be oversimplified,
- homepage aesthetics - it can be tough to get used to the new appearance, but I guess it's a matter of time. Personally though I'd say the "closed" edges were better than the "rounded" edges. There are 2 things that have been changed in such a way that I perceive really well; country flags of the speedrunners in the latest runs and the popular new games section. A+ for that one,
- the games section - I'm pretty sure it was meant to show the games' thumbnails as if they were the covers. Since the games used to have square-styled icons, in several cases the icon gets trimmed in such a way the change makes them worse. Especially that's the case for the mobile games which isn't ideal. However, it looks good for the series section,
- the game page - the "history" is quite something and can be helpful for any story regarding the WR history. Also, the WR graphs seem to be improved which is neat. At least in case of full game categories. ILs record charts are broken. Or at least that's the case in one game I'm looking at. What I'm missing though is the matter of when the most recent run was submitted/verified. Definitely removing the part with the game's recent runs (on the game's page) is a bad change. The IL overview is what I'd be cool with. Though I'll be missing the table with IL records only,
- profile overview - here I'm missing the matter of "first submitted run" or "last comment posted". That and the matter of showing since when the speedrunner is in speedrunning a certain game. What I'm also missing is the accumulated time of speedruns in one game by a roleplayer. I'd also focus on the overview of the runs. Previously (at least in ILs) the runs would be separated into sections (in case of ILs that'd be in different levels) if the player had runs in at least 2 different categories of a section. Now it's gone and the overview is an absolute chaos. Also, having a pfp is now kinda forced which wasn't the case in the previous version. At least the settings have better design,
- pending runs - it's a shame we aren't able to see the position our run would be at if it's going to be verified. I mean a player would be aware of the position their run would be at, but they should be able to see that after submitting their run as well.
In general, the idea for a change is good. I know that it'll take time before I get used to it. However, in the current conditions the updated look is unacceptable due to the technical aspects.
Edit: I've just tried to set one of my IL runs as a featured run, but despite saving the change, leaving the settings would reset the change and therefore the selected run isn't a featured run. As I've said, the look can take time to get familiar with, but there are a lot of fixes that have to be done. The update hinders the functionality of src too much. It's not just about the pages loading way longer than they should.
Thanks for a reply. I used to upload the recordings in their full form and as much as it wouldn't be much of an issue on a phone (20 minutes = 1 GB), it is on iPad. And the Internet usage is a thing as well. Once again thanks for reassuring.
I know it may sound like a weird question, but I'd like to ask about that thing. Since I've noticed that a screen recording for at 5 minutes on iPad takes 1 GB, I've been thinking about editing the video so that the uploaded video features just an actual run. But is one allowed to actually allowed to edit videos with a run? If yes, then to what extent so that the run isn't rejected for a suspicion of splicing? The case is that the original recording features the run along with failed attempts and the edited video to be uploaded is meant to only feature the submitted run. Would I be allowed to edit the video in such a way?
So there is one run in Regulator and two runs in Collapse. Fortunately though those runs do not affect the sheet with IL WRs.
