Timing

So i've just started speedrunning mario odyssey and im enjoying it alot but I have one problem. Timing my runs. I dont have a capture card so the only way I can record the time is my random stopwatch that I found in a drawer. Which I have found its not very accurate. And i'm incredibly OCD so it bothers me that its not exact xD, so, how do I record time accurately on a switch with no capture card?

If you're posting here you're on a PC or phone, no? Unless the switch has a browser, idk.

If you're on PC or phone, there are timing programs you can use.

point webcam or phone camera at screen while you do the run, send in, mods will time for you. Mods will most likely reject (should) if you don't have video evidence of the full run. and as Komrade has said, there's programs on PC & phone that provide a timer. for example LiveSplit on PC or FramePerfect on mobile.

@Komrade nope, no browser on switch (at least not an easily accessible one, there's one, but I'm getting OT)

I am using a computer to record this but the timers still wouldnt be accurate because i woulndt be able to press go on the timer and start at the exact same time. But if the mods will time for me I can just record with my phone if that will work.

Yeah timing a run yourself is really helpful for both you and verifiers but ultimately it's up to them to make sure the time is right.

The time doesnt need to be exact. No one should be that sensitive lol
