Not gonna lie, I thought the follow button was just a way to easily check in on the communities you like. Whilst I was sort of right, I didn't know I'd get notifications for every single message on every thread of every game I follow. Is there a way to disable thread notifications unless someone is replying to my message or commenting on a thread I posted on?
Please tell me if there is - if there isn't that's fine, I just don't want my notifications inbox to be clogged up with messages that I don't want to see, but I still want to follow my favourite games.
After you've followed a game a button should show up on the game page where you can set up which notifications that specific game gives you. In addition there is a notification tab on the settings page on your profile, here you can define the default follow settings that are applied when you follow games in the future. It also gives you the option to apply the default settings to all currently followed games if you don't want to manually update each of the games you've already followed. On the same page you have the global notifications settings which allows you to completely turn off certain notifications regardless of what settings you have applied to the individual games.
